will do , they dont look in too bad condition wise , might have to repair the wire sheathing on the stator as quite bad ,cracked bit missing the whole wire is pretty stiff and inflexible tbh but should do its job . I have bought a pazon ignition kit already so hope that is up to the job in hand .
Should have some sheathing ,a dab of JB weld at the stator end should seal things up . Cheers thats my Sunday sorted now getting the primary side sorted
A few hours on the bike today , I did manage to get the clutch back together and fitted the stator , only a small repair in the end but seems good to go . Cylinder head built back up having had new seats and guides , fitted and ready for rocker boxes.
One thing I am not sure on as think I am on a change over year is the primary oiler tube has mine been chewed by the chain ? where is the right hand end suposed to go . I am thinking I should have a metal capture plate with a pipe outlet ? is this correct and is it important as defo wasn't there before
I will have to have another look tomorrow , I know the bit you mean but on mine there is no outlet to connect a pipe to just a blank casting unless I am mistaken . Will report back thanks
If you look under the alt wires there is a obvious part of the inner case that you can see coming down at an angle from the c shaped part
Yes I see that now ! it was hidden by the chain , I was too comfy sat on my stool and a bit too high to see it , my knees are a bit buggered from a lifetime of building work so too lazy to bend down , there is just a hole no spigot ,so assume the pipe just pushes into it . A new pipe is on order , thanks darkman
Lol, easy to miss especially if it's not there in the first place, i have just done a bit more on Su's T100 and hope to polish the outer covers next so i can button up the bottom end as i should be doing the paint next week
Blimey I better get a move on sounds like your catching up fast ! ha ha , Talking of paint I am now back on the case , priming the rear guard , front has been done already and flatted so both recieving some silver . Hoping to get the tank torch masked and that based too .
Just thinking again about my rear guard , thought I was good to go having drilled the mount holes for the rear light and guard itself . But now realised I forgot the hole for wiring ? I am not sure where it goes , also I have a wiring protector left in my new parts box , I assume this fits to the underside of guard but where exactly , it has two mount holes do I drill new holes for this or does it share some. I have had a look online for pics but cant seem to find a pic of rear guard to confirm . if I can drill holes before final paint that would be idealy, this is my wire protector https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https://www.feked.com/images/detailed/62/IMG_8945.jpg&imgrefurl=https://www.feked.com/triumph-rear-mudguard-wiring-protector-unit-500-650cc-models-circa-1969-74-t150-models.html&docid=hUD9A3oK-_n4sM&tbnid=WnIMwfv_8lxeEM:&vet=10ahUKEwjegJv3i9PiAhVDJhoKHQcTBF0QMwhFKAMwAw..i&w=1000&h=750&itg=1&bih=625&biw=1366&q=82-7826 Wiring protector fitting location&ved=0ahUKEwjegJv3i9PiAhVDJhoKHQcTBF0QMwhFKAMwAw&iact=mrc&uact=8 Hey up just had a thought , does does the protector share the single top stud of the rear light for one mount point therefore a hole needs to be drilled just to the left of the stud hole for the wire to emerge and the same for top mount shares one of the u bracket bolt holes with another hole drilled for the wire to allow it to pass under the guard into the protector . ?
If you place the wire guard on mudguard it shares the mounting holes for the light and the top clamp, you will see the top hole for wiring is on the right looking from behind of the frame clamp bolt and the bottom wire hole is inline below mounting hole.
Ah ha , thanks so the guard when offered up to holes already drilled will give me the location of the two holes I need to drill which will have gomets for the wires , I havent got the gromets so I can take a guess with a 6 or 8mm drill . Thanks again .
Going to mask and spray the silver torch shape tomorrow on the tank . I am going to try and lacquer over decal which could well be risky but will have fingers crossed so it doesn’t pickle . Thinking I might pin stripe on top .
Don't forget to remove the paint from the filler neck on top and inside or it will be pickle city :-(
