Hi all. I've just bought a 400X but I'm not impressed with the 70/30 Metzelers fitted as they tramline badly and are a bit squirelly on damp roads. All my riding is on tarmac so I'm thinking of putting pure road tyres on. So far, I've learned that Conti Trail Attack 3 or Pirelli Scorpion Trail 3 work well (apparently despite the word Trail in their description, they are both road tyres) and I was wondering whether anyone has direct experience of these or would recommend something else. Thanks Chris
I find exactly the same with my 400X. I thought the tyres maybe worn but my mate had some on his Versys and said they were just the same. Will be interested in any replies
Hi Chris, I had the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2s on my Multistrada and they were a great tyre, really confidence inspiring and would handle well in all conditions.
If it wasn’t for their horrendous howling noise I’d be the first to recommend the Michelin Anakee Roads, 90/10 tyres comparable to the road 5’s
I run Conti Road Attacks on my versys. They are a night and day difference over 80/20 tires. Way more confidence on pavement, especially in the wet. The Trail Attacks are also excellent if you want that slightly tougher look. You can't go wrong with either for 100% road use.
