Can anyone tell me the mileage and time limits on having the first service carried out on the new generation bikes (Street twin etc).

    TIA

Thanks Tony. Strewth, only one month! I'm sure all the new Japanese bikes I've had were 6 months (but I do have a crap memory)

I took mine to 3X for the first service, they said forget the one month, but wanted the 500 miles on the bike, just to make sure I put it in after one month with exactly 500 miles.

600 miles or 1 month on my Thrux R, but that's ok, was good to get some decent oil in there.

In the past, normally booked first service when I picked the bike up, and normally gave myself 2 weeks to get 500 done, its your new toy and gives you a great excuse to get out a much as you can and never struggled to get the mileage done.
Just an addition to @crispey I had mines serviced over winter and got cheap rates for the servicing and with what I saved the dealer picked it up and delivered it back, a lot less hassle and its ready to go for the better weather coming in. Plus stops me looking at nice shinny new ones
