brake issues.

Evening folks.

Made a total Newbie mistake today while out on a ride to parents house.

Ended up trying to ride off with my disc lock left on front brake. Bike jolted forward, alarm went off obviously so took off lock and rode bike down to parents house, thought nothing of it.

However on the way back I noticed the front brake lever was not working unless I repeatedly pressed it and even then would take 4 goes before could feel front brake working.
When i wheeled bike to lock outside flat I noticed brake was sticking and making noise similar to when bicycle brake is stuck to wheel.

Probably very simple fix but wanted to get your expert opinions on possible fixes?

I take it I would need a whole new front disk?

I think I will take it to nearby motorcycle mechanic who gets great reviews on Monday.

Such a stupid mistake!!

 

Yeah I would if I had some way of lifting bike off the ground but Im thinking rather than make a pigs ear of it I will take it to a guy 2 miles away who seems to get great reviews.
Fingers crossed its not warped or worse.

 

Must be the alcohol still in his system. Better chat apparently!

Front disc was warped and rear disc was rattling so had both replaced with Brembos as well as pads.

An expensive mistake...never to be repeated, I hope!!

The unfunny things being the disc lock that caused the hole in my wallet is alarmed, it just only seems to go
off when its touched...is this right?

Might look at investing in a slightly more sensitive soul to match my bladder after a Saturday night!

 

I shall sell one of the cats, the posh one, and buy a decent fort knox disc lock with neon cable!
