that's the last Rockets rolled off the production line as the new EU emission laws for next year will be tougher than they can get out of the current engine. I wonder if we will see a bigger R3 variant out in 2017 as can't see triumph wanting to drop the bike completely
There are a few models now being ended. I was advised that what is out there is it - this from a dealer. Means prices of used machines will appreciate.
I was in a triumph dealers today and he said the rocket 111 will be back with electronics and 2.7 litre
Wish they'd tell the dealerships in the North West - they are adamant that the R3 is ended. They even reduced their stock in store to move on £600 below list and vouchers for kit
My dealer down south said Rocket will return, with electronics, maps etc, he also said as so many tuners were creating big power Rockets that he had heard the new model will be a limited run and it wouldnt be normally aspirated. not sure if that was genuine insider info but with triumph creating Guy Martins Rocket engined speed machine with turbo's the proven technology is obviously there.
As far as dealers go, they'll tell you anything depending on whether it nets a sale or deposit. When I bought my Scrambler I had `heard` there won't be another one, there will be another one, it'll be a 1200cc, it'll be completely restyled etc etc.
I was in Perth JCS triumph, and they believe America & Speed Master will be Dropped. And possibly. Permanently ! I'm almost in tears. but wait. does that mean current one's will. Appreciate in value ? is so. Yippeee. !
They seem to believe that a Rocket will indeed be manufactured - but not for the UK market. Australia and America may have a version but what is in the UK now is it. Let's hope this is not the fact....
Hope they incorporate the T120 engine into an America/Speedy as the bobber doesn't do it for me, being a solo and the stying put me off but hey there are plenty that will love it. That's what I like about the post Meriden Triumph range, there's a model to suit just about everyone.
Hi crispey, That looks too much like the back end of my 1941 BSA M20 and my missus hated it, too close to the ground and all it's bump's !!! I don't think much of rigid are ends myself, luckily those old M20's were pretty slow ! Made it more bearable ! Top speed of 100/105 kph, cruise @ 75/80 kph, Something modern with a top speed over 160 kph beggars belief !!!!! Luckily for me and swmbo we have our America already .... sigh of relief here ! Cheers capt.
