I was considering the screen over the cowl, but dealer put me off its says on the box from Triumph ,Not to be fitted to Speed Triple, quite why that is I don't know. It's okay for the street, it must be something to do with speed !

The bolts in mine are M5s so I guess the hole must be bigger for the rubber grommet!

Went out for a ride with just the cowl. The air is now a lot cleaner over my lid, however there is more air pressure on my chest but I'm happy with that. So, it looks like i will be keeping it 'sans' screen for the foreseeable future!

The screen is good for keeping the bugs off though.. thousands out there tonight!!!

Yeah, i know what you mean, but it looks better than the ££££'s hole in the wallet if you wanted a new one!

Well I'm thing about getting a carbon one so I don't have to drill into the original..
Carbon is cheaper than the paint job on the dark...
Will add a touring screen if I can find one I like.. Not sure of the triumph one...

Not tried it with just the cowl yet cos of the 3 holes, enjoying riding it with just the clocks there at the moment. When I'm bored enough I will try it. May take a look at the carbon cowls available but worried that if I start to buy carbon trinkets I may not be able to stop

So Triumph must do one with holes for the visor and a plain one as per my picture? In the on-line configuration thingy it shows the cowl and flyscreen as separate items but both can be added. Or does the dealer drill it and put the brass ferrules in -can't see that going well every time

Bry. Can you confirm if the 2012+ fly screen is the same as the older version? (as you've had both bikes)
Seen a screen from Earmax I like but it does not state if it will fit the later bike

Sorry pal - didn't have one fitted to the old one as I preferred the look of the round headlights naked (I feel that the shape of the new headlights cries out for one). However, Ermax are quoting different product numbers for the two models: http://www.motoevolution.co.uk/cata...cts_id=11514&make_id=6&model_id=491&year=2007 http://www.motoevolution.co.uk/cata...cts_id=15865&make_id=6&model_id=491&year=2012

If you find one that fits I don't think you'll be disappointed with Ermax quality - it's superb.

It doesn't look too bad but you just know someone is going to ask you "what those 3 screws for"

Perhaps we could use the holes to mount some mini LED lights like the lads use to illuminate the bumpers on their tasteful Citroen Saxo's

It doesn't look to bad at all really. And, if someone asks I will tell 'em its to make the bike look a little punk rocker! Not that anyone will see them though, as it will be going too quick for 'em!

Anyway, I'm thinking of a white stripe down the centre of the bike, a'la 2010 SE model, so I would get another cowl for that and flog this one with the screen. Simples!
