Having used the bonnie for most of the week(weather has been kind) boy is she dirty and I mean dirty, so I will be washing her down,damn that salt stuff dry her off and then reapply the ACF50, one happy bike.

 

I did the same as I do every day I went to work on it and I came home the very long way

 

Cheers ade. No, noting yet,I am on loads of pain killers. Have got physio clinic appointment on Dec 20th then on 8th Jan MRI scan.Bloody NHS,lol. Yep hopefully be back (sic) to normal before the good weather

 

Workshop day today.
Rode the bike to work to change front and rear brake pads without using the rear brake. (Pic will show you why)
Firstly, new bike scissor jack used for the first time, absolutely brilliant!
£38 incl P&P from Fleabay.
Safe, quick and easy to use.
Horrified to see the rear disc pads, fortunately it had only very slightly marked the disc which I polished out
ECB HH pads fitted front and rear as recommended by the Big Lad, they look and feel like real good quality parts. £50ish from Wemoto
Good clean up, nice steady ride home, well pleased with my little self.
Another bountiful day, getting to know my bike a bit more intimately.

 

Made these this week and fitted today, not tried on road yet. they are 25mm risers.

 

Very nice risers Dilwyn. When I fitted 1 inch risers to the Sprint (with my old bars) I was amazed at the difference in height.
My mrs says an inch can make a lot of difference.lol

Biglad / Mick, I had EBC HH pads on my bike, great stopping power with little pressure on lever but after a few months I was getting grating/judder from the front brake. The discs looked fine. On a Sprint site I use a lot of guys have had probs with these pads, the temporary cure was to lightly wet and dry emery the disc and the problem went away for a bit. However it returned some weeks later. Doing a little deep research it seems the HH pads cause probs with some Triumph bikes. Some riders have changed discs twice under warranty and still the problem returned. Not saying it is the case with yours, I am sure all will be fine on newer models.

I changed my pads back to ceramic and instantly the problem went away,ok the braking is a touch less but not a lot. Just wonder if you had seen anything about it biglad on your forums

Thanks for the heads up on the pads, I will monitor closely.
Everything was thoroughly cleaned, greased and working like new so if there is an issue it will definitely be the pads.

 

First run out on new bike every thing good and working as it should, as for review , I was wracking my brains to be honest and clear, not only on the new bike, also the differences between the two. so here goes :-

I know, total negligence on my behalf.
My head is hung in shame.
Punishment for me was not being able to use the bike last week while I waited for the pads plus having to polish out the slight score marks on the disc.
I can promise it will not happen again!

 

I had a look, but it has to be 177x177 mm (6,96x6,96 inches). Cheers anyway!

 

Had a bit of a blast, start wearing in these tyres. Only 60 miles on wet roads so not a lot I can learn from that as to how good they are, plus running way above my normal warm weather pressure settings (34-40 compared to 32-36 that I usually run on big bikes) meant I couldn't glean a lot from them so far.

Of course they're a massive improvement over the squared off lego bricks that were on before, not too much input needed to start a turn, but the normal surefootedness that I've come to expect from Battlax over the years. They've always had a rep for being about the best all-weather tyres.

I never have liked 190 profile rears, makes the bike feel heavier than it needs to, but I'll have to get used to it, I guess.

 

Dream about riding it - had to drive the car to Norfolk day , it would have been an epic ride

 

There was a feature in MCN the other week on SpeedTriple which included comments from mechanic on what to look out for, he claimed EBC HH pads eat Triumph discs. Might be true,..... might just be pushing genuine Triumph parts (was probably a Triumph dealer).

You are not the first to report this and I will monitor closely.
I hope it isn't the case as a set of discs will be £200+
The EBC pads were not cheap and I went purely on recommendation and review.
Looks like I may have missed some important reviews!

 

Whiteways this morning - sunny but not that many there. The ride home from Singleton at 7.00 this evening was less enjoyable . I hate fog

 

Since everyone reads this ill ask here. who had the thread about overriding your headlights so they are not on when starting your bike? please if you remember put a link here.
