Will someone share the plug spanner specs for the Thruxton 12's please?, thanks....size/Pt No/buy one from/best if you use this one etc etc With the bike stored up for winter now, I am taking the chance to Copper Grease various bolts and fittings to prevent seizure problems in the future........with 10,000 mile service intervals on these models, that is plenty of time for bolts and fittings to get wet and seized up and 'difficult and expensive' to remove sometime in the future, cheers, dickydido
Just in case anybody else wanted to whip their plugs out themselves while I was at the dealers getting the tank recall sorted I asked the mechanic what the plug spanner spec was.....its. 14mm, long reach. He also said 'we only check them at 10,000 and change them at 20,000'.....blimey!......when I had a Kawasaki 500 H1 on the road I had to change them at 10 miles if I had been daudling around....there was even a space under the seat for 3 spare plugs.....eventually picked up an ex Grand Prix 500 H1R engine that a guy named Ron Chandler used to race quite successfully 'back in the day'.....now that was 'hairy'.....it snapped the standard frame in the end......that led to me finding a Colin Seeley rolling chassis that the engine had come out of which led me onto actually racing it myself.....but a divorce quickly followed and extinguished my racing funds.....she called it the 'house keeping' and got really pissed when I spent it on the bike Cheers, dickydido
10 miles ! you shudda put grease on 'em . It's good to get the divorce out of the way, you can get on with life then .
