Hi there , has anyone fitted a vacuum type scottoiler on a sprint gt , I've got a 2014 model , and not sure where to connect vacuum pipe , site the resovoir and run the pipes , any advise would be welcomed , any pictures showing the above would be greatly welcomed , thanks in advance

As Victor says, go on the Scottoiler website, if you are unsure contact them they are most helpful. I fitted one to my 2012 Bonnie a few months ago, and it is brilliant! A great investment! Think about the pipe routing, no chafing or trapping. Have patience setting the valve, it may take a few days to get it just right. I monitored mine by the tiny specks of oil thrown onto the rear wheel rim and number plate and then backing it off. (Instructions give it at one drop per 60 seconds) The chain always looks just wet now without flinging oil off. Anyone else thinking about buying one go on Delboy YouTube, he gives you a voucher code at the end which I used.
Cheers fellas I've looked on scottoiler web site and the pics look very basic , so was just hoping for a bit more detail from someone who's actually fitted one , I'll get the tank off and ring scottoiler if it looks a bit vague
talking to triumph techs they recommend electronic types for EFI triumphs saying the extra volume on the pipework for one cylinder where you take off the vacuum can affect the info going to the ECU.
I checked all this out before fitting to my EFI There is a small pipe low down on the left carburettor body which has a 90 degree rubber blanking plug. Remove this and fit the vacuum pipe to this inlet. I have been running it 3 months now almost daily with no issues at all.
I'll take some pics and send them on. Don't be deterred by the Triumph Tecs. I bet they supply and fit for circa £750 Mine cost me £87 direct from Scottoiler and fitted myself. One word, Brilliant!
Cheers Mick , if really appreciate that , I've used a scottoiler on my last two bikes ,and I've removed it from the last one to put on my latest , but both were older , carb models , this is the first fuel injected , so it obviously makes sense for me to get as much info as poss
the techs I spoke to had nothing to gain. they do what they were given, but had a good understanding of the triumph EFI. when they explained about the different pipe volumes after triumph went to great lengths to make sure they were all the same I understood what they meant. If it worked for you, great. i'm just passing on what I was informed by people who knew more about it than me.
Good thread. I've been thinking about fitting one, I haven't had a chain to worry about for a long time, my last couple of bikes were shaft drive. I'd hate to ruin the chain and sprockets through neglect simply because I haven't had to worry in the past and forget to maintain them.
Just a quick update , I've fitted the vacuum scottoiler , and used the vacuum take off as recommended by scottoiler , the attached picture taken their website , shows the blank by the middle throttle body , done a few miles with no problem , sorted
One of the many items on my list of bike related bits. I really should be top of the list as rode shaft drive BMWs for years and rarely think about chains. Forgetting it would be a disaster so I really should get this sorted sooner rather than later.
