Hi guys We have done some modifications to my Trident 900. One is uprating the fork springs to CBR600 units as per MK1 Speed Triple website, and cafe racer style bars from the same vehicle. Had to make spacers 10" long to make them the same size as the existing springs and then shortened them a little bit so we could get them into the forks and tighten the nuts. Will be trying it out in the next few days, we noticed the speedo cable snagging a little bit due to being too long, so will purchase a ST one (don't want it to stick whilst on the move) I definitely think it is an improvement
done similar but with zxr750 springs and spacers to give 25mm static sage. use the old cable tie trick to check sag length
How did it perform with those springs? yet to try mine out, few people have said it totally transforms the way the bike handles.
Yes Zxr's are fantastic. People fit progressive springs. Anyone in suspension will tell you only to use linear springs. Also make sure they wont go coil bound. ie. coils all touch before end of travel.
To make it all work you may need a good rear shock stock are not much good. don't rate Hagon. I got Maxton but a good reasonable choice is YSS
Went for 2 rides today what a difference, I can feel the back needs bringing up to spec now as well, I've heard same about hagon and YSS. Just need to get the funds together.
