Interesting Norton here on Isle of Man, note the 'blackout' cover for the headlight from the war and look closely at the horn with the swastika, it is from the 1936 olympics.

This almost made me late for a meet with Steve Lovatt.

I was always passing and my curiosity got the better of me so I dropped in and was confronted by this!!

7ltrs, 600 hp and just under a ton of motorcycle with a wheelbase almost twice as long as my Thrux. It is a fantastic piece of machinery and left me totally awestruck
the owner admits that it is not your "normal" motorbike and can't be looked at in that way, he had just taken it out for its inaugural 50 mile run and is not for your general run out as the route has to be planned to avoid mini r/bouts and speed humps.

The owner owns a custom and restoration business and has a fantastic personal collection of Jap and Brit bikes.

    Almost perfection on two wheels.
But I think I would prefer a slimline frame rather than the wideline one as seen here.
I had a wideline framed Norton 88 many years ago and it was not the most comfortable bike I ever owned. Splayed the old legs out a bit too much!
Just being a bit picky I suppose, but it is a beautiful piece of kit!!:) Me likey!! A lot!!:):)

I had a 850G , 1981 model, and it was my favorite bike! Never had one minutes problem of any kind. I found her brand new on the dealers showroom in 1983, right after I got married. The bike is long gone, but the wife is still here!

This was at the distinguished gentlemans ride in Sheffield, a couple of years ago, and the bottom one is my mates Vincent.
