I suppose this is directed more at Richard H but thought I'd ask in general anyway. My bike has the fly screen and fly screen visor fitted. There are times when I will want to remove the visor, e.g. when I mount the video camera on the tank. Does anyone know if you can get colour coordinated plugs to insert in the visor mounting points? Ta. B
I should have mentioned that I tried my local Triumph dealer and apparently they're not made by Triumph so I guess I'm really seeing if anyone has found a non-Triumph solution.
He does carbon fly screen..... In answer I don't think you can get a plug as such. You could always paint a pan head screw red and then just screw it in. My mate had same issue but his was blackso was not as visible... Other very cheap option... Red insulation tape... But that is just plain cheap.....
I kinda guessed but had to check! I've maybe found something: http://www.afac.co.uk/earthing_points/data_sheets/BAKEWELL-SCREW-IN-PLUG.pdf No, not the pink ones! I think I could get something like this and cut it fairly thin with a Stanley knife. All I need now is to find another 500 people with red Speed Triples that want to take the visor off and it should be economically viable! But at least I know there's an answer out there.
What's the best way to find out what thread I need - I can measure the diameter but don't have one of those thread pitch measuring doo-hickies?
Good thinking. Actually, I'll take one of the mounting bolts to one of our suppliers and try it in some random nuts.
Here we go again, trying random nuts! I think that belongs on another forum Bry! :upyeah: couldn't resist!
Woo Hooo, my status has changed from Junior to 'Member! that means you lot can't 'groom' me anymore!!!!!!! oh yeah i'm a 'MEMBER' happy days!
Since Pig gave me his points I'm at level 31! Admin should now think of adding 'God' to the member status thingy! I'm smashing it!
Flash b*stard! anyway gotta go and prepare supper for the current wife who's been working all day while I've been tinkering with the Speed and enjoying the forum while listening to Planet Rock and sampling Abbot - does life get any better!
