Just received my new Aria dark visor. It says on it " daylight use only" not as I have tried it yet but what are the consequences of using it at night or do you take a spare visor and put it under the seat. It appears to be just smoked so would you use it at night?
Your choice but if plod see's it then he wont like it because its tinted, thats why they print on for daylight use only gets the makers on the legal side of things
I use a photo-chromatic pinlock, best of both worlds and lasts a long tine if you look after it. I use it in a clear visor in the winter and a very light smoke in the summer.
If you've ever ridden with a dark visor at night as I have had to when I forgot to take a clear visor out with me & ended riding 40 odd miles home with a dark visor , its not really much fun , I nearly hit a parked car going through a village . The consequences of using it at night is you cant see joking ( well, not joking) aside, Plod will get the hump if caught. I would advise if going on a day trip then fine use it. But if you think its going to be a late one use sunglasses under a clear visor. problem solved.
i think as it is only a smoke tint visor it wouldn't be like riding at night with a totally illegal dark visor (which is hopeless in the dark) you have to open the visor and sit at 40 mph with your eyes screwed up so vision although not as good as a clear visor shouldn't be dangerously bad,if it's like the ones I'm thinking off PC Plod won't bother you
I got caught out a few years ago with a light tint visor on a Shoei. I was up in Scotland on a tour and decided to have a late evening ride to see the sunset. Only had to ride about 15 miles in the dark, but felt very nervous, especially in the really dark stretches. I now have a Shark Vision R with internal drop down dark visor, which is absolutely brilliant.
The times that I get caught out late at night are going to be few so like you say Dougie D I will open the visor. I wear glasses so may not have to screw my eyes up too much
Been using my Aria with dark visor for years. Never been hassled by Five-0. I do carry an amber and clear visor with me. Riding at night in the dark visor is not advisable, 40mph visor-up squint is the usual situation !!!! If you haven't tried a orange / amber visor yet, do ! Great in the wet and when dull grey overcast. I got mine for bugger all when Arai importer went bust, will never be without one. I use it way more than the clear visor, which only comes out when it gets proper dark, cos the light amplification of the amber only works down to a certain light level.
I will have to try it out, I have a orange shield on my rifle scope an you often see shooters with orange safety glasses, there must be a good reason. I will check them out cheers

The picture you see is comparatively a bit darker but contains much more shading and fine detail, letting you pick out traffic etc. more easily" Might be a load of bollox, but it works for me. Makes everything brighter, but does take 5 minutes getting used to the strange colours it makes everything.
