    Hello All
I am trying to reset my 955i 1999 Sprint ST using Tune ECU, and failed. I followed the instructions as given on You Tube, but the guy's bike is a Tiger 1050, flawless instruction which worked well for his bike.
Any one tuned a ECU on a 955i 1999 model who could give me some pointers?
I am using a laptop that communicate with my ECU, all appears to be working but I cant reset the TPS.
    Many thanks

There's a reset tps on tune ecu software when plugged in as well as the idling reset method. Is it there when plugged into your 955?

    Hi Robin
when I have connected TuneECU to my bike I find there is a drop down box, which remains "greyed" out, whatever I do I cant make it work. In the test section I find a Reset TPS in the bottom LH of the screen, this time when I click on it the words "resetting TPS" appear, I tried the static reset procedure ie turn ignition off for ten seconds etc, but nothing seems to happen after that point , I have left the bike ticking over for 10 mins but yet again nothing seems to happen. Must admit not to sure of the the procedure on how to rest the TPS, was hoping someone in the forum could put me straight.......any ideas?
    Many thanks

That's the tune ecu method which is fine. What happens after you clicked it and it says it's resetting?

    Thanks for replying Robin,
After I click on the Reset TPS, A message appears in the grey bar to the right stating the TPS was reset, but to my understanding, should the TPS little box turn green??? But after receiving the TPS as reset message, nothing else seems to happen. Now I could be doings this all wrong, I watched a You Tube video where a guy was tuning a Tiger 1050.o_O

Resetting the tps does just that, resets it's zero position and all the stored learned parameters from your normal riding habits. On the diagnostic screen you will see that your tps should read 0% and as you twist it, it will move round to 100%. Thats pretty much all it does. Now you just need to go out and ride it so the ecu relearns your normal riding style on the throttle over time.

So there is no need to idle the engine for 10 mins etc??? Just go for a ride!

Nope if you've done it through the software you don't need to do it again on the ignition and idle. Just ride it.

Did you reset tps with engine running or off?

    Hi everyone Sitrep'
after changing all the vacuum and fuel hoses, the airbox rubbers, reloaded map and re-tuned TPS. My bike sounded lovely, sprayed WD40 all over the new hoses, just to be sure, the idle didnt miss a beat YAY! I thought jumped on and roared down the A299 towards Deal, the grin factor was growing big and strong......happy days :):) until a small roundabout outside sandwhich...... she just died on me.:mad::mad: Ok I thought hang around for ten mins be on my way again....naw not this time had to call Green flag and be recovered.... the shame of it:oops::oops::oops: so my sad bike is sitting outside my house with a dead battery. cant work on her till the weekend.
