Well that's fantastic news indeed. The more people that read these posts the better in my book.
I heard the other day that a friend of my wife, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, he's just 25 years old. So it can happen to anyone any age. The message is crystal clear. For God's sake get tested if you have ANY doubt.

Just adding to what @Bikerman has said even if there are no symptoms and irrespective of age get tested, even if that means you having to play the mental health card to stop you suffering from anxiety and depression, if you know what I mean.

I had no symptoms at all. The earlier you get diagnosed the treatment will be less and so will the side effects. If you are over 50 your right to a test irrespective of symptoms is written into the NHS constitution.

This is a document that I have just downloaded from the PCUK website. It answers many questions that will be asked by those who have recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. If you have difficulty opening the attached document use this hyperlink. It worked on the Ducati forum site so don’t understand why it’s not on here. All of a sudden it's now working so you now have two options to access it. :confounded:

One of the guys on the Ducati forum brought this to our attention Researchers praise ‘stunning’ results of new prostate cancer treatment

On reading the article I noted the following:-

The trial of 58 men were all suffering from advanced prostate cancer, some who’s cancer had already metastasised.

Hopefully most of the guys on this forum will now have heeded the advice of us wearers of the Tee shirt and got themselves diagnosed early.

This treatment is classed as immunotherapy. If they can somehow manipulate our own bodies to eliminate the cancerous cells this is good news and I would hope that the resultant side effects would be substantially less than some of the current treatments being used.

However it was noted that it is important that studies are carried out with patients of different ethnicities, as there were disparities in prostate cancer outcomes. By now we should all be aware that unfortunately the black guys amongst us are twice as vulnerable as the rest of us.

it was noted that where the cancer had already metastasised to one patient’s liver the cancerous lesions were fully resolved by this new drug. So we may not be the only cancer sufferers to benefit from it.

And finally for those who interpret this news as no longer needing to be concerned about this cancer as there is a wonder drug coming that will sort us all out I leave you with the sobering thought that it kills over 12,000 guys in the UK every year.

Having re read my response I can see that it could be interpreted as if I was implying that you hadn't read it through, whereas I was actually attempting to encourage our fellow forum members to do so.

Apologies for my grammatical faux pas.
