    Hi
    2004 Bonnie with spoked wheels.
Love the spokes so looking for tubed tires.
No gravel, mostly fair weather in town with limited highway.Higher mileage capability if possible. Not going to ride aggressively as gave different bike for those days
    Suggestions?
    Heard good things about Dunlop,Avon,Metzeler...
    Decisions,decisions....

My personal choice is Avon's but seem hard to get in the UK these days. They seem to have more longevity and handle well.

We used Bridgestone T41 on our former Bonnie's.

Most modern tyres are very good, but everyone has there own little prejudices..... I'm not a big Dunlop fan, I never settled on my Suzuki SV650S and blamed the tyres, and my mechanic frowned when I suggested Avon Trailriders for my CL500.... don't know why, I know people who swear by them!

Ended up on Metzeler Tourance for that chunky off-road look, and they seem fine!

Review of Bridgestone T33 in magazine - good grip and harder centre compound on rear tyre for increased mileage over previous T32.

    Might be worth a look.

Sorry can’t help with tyre choice. It’s interesting that in Canada you seem to speak/write American not English. Obviously in certain areas French too.
Has American been officially recognised as the language of Canada or has it just crept in?
Language is interesting to me, the way it changes and evolves with each generation.

Ha! Ha! Language is wonderful. My brother moved to Canada and soon after he messaged me to say they were settling into the house, but he had just been to the lumber yard to buy some timber, and they were buying a new stove for the kitchen too.

I jokingly replied, no, you've been to the diy store for some wood, and you're getting a new cooker! ;)

Years ago my secretary had a pen-pal, I think also in Canada, might have been the USA, who asked her if we had refrigerators in Scotland, it's a unit for keeping food fresh in. She stopped writing to her!!

The band WAX did a good song in the 80's, American English.

I suppose I should have mentioned that I put road tyres on my CB500X "adventure" bike and rode that for 7 years - Pirelli Angel ST. For some sizes it might have to be GT's.

Good grip, good price, average mileage around 5,500 - 6,000 miles on back tyre. Last set were made in India though, seemed fine but worth mentioning.

Every rider has their favourites and I'm no different. I tried several brands and models before the Michelin Road Classics that I have now. To say that these tyres improved the handling would be an understatement and the longevity is amazing. It's also worth pointing out that the new Bonnevilles come with this tyre as standard fitment, that should tell you something.

    Hey Thane,

I find on the forum, members come from a variety of countries and markets. What is available in the USA or UK may not be available here.

I always check with a local independent shop that is respected and ask what they have. They typically have connections to most top suppliers and know the price points and market well enough to earn your business.

I have the appropriate Metzelers for my T100 and they are excellent all round tire. Good in wet and dry and so far decent wear.

Avoid spooning on some old stock “name brand” tires that could prematurely crack or wear unevenly.

You’ll find unanimous positive feedback with any new rubber on a bike.

There are the die hards that run specific brands and don’t mind the cost as they know what they are getting. I’m more of a budget finder and run what seems like a decent price for what is available at time and do check out the review if it’s something I haven’t tried yet.

There are very few, probably none of us on here that can ride well enough to find the limits of any modern tyre on the road. Maybe a few more can find the limits off road. I’ve had Anakee adventures, Anakee road, Bridgestone A41s, Tourance, Tourance next, Avon Trail riders, and many other tyres over the years. They have all been way better than me on the road.
