One of the super things about meeting Sandi and Steve was that I got to meet the very lovely Ellie, their boxer dog. She liked me too as much as I liked her and I was licked to death every time I went to their house.
Trying on one of Sandi’s cowboy hats. They can cost as much as $2000. Yikes The Harley shirt a kind gift from Steve.
Last day and heading back to Phoenix to drop the car off. I first had to fill it with petrol. This was quite confusing as there were 2 pumps nozzles. A green one and a black one. But which was which. I had to ask a lady just pulling up to the pump. Apparently the black nozzle is petrol and the green is the diesel. Good job I asked. I had a nice breakfast at the airport in Phoenix. This was a big piece of chicken in a bun (which they called a biscuit) with little potatoes pieces bacon.
I was only in the US for one week. But what a week. Sandi and Steve (and Ellie) were awesome, knowledgeable and fantastic company. I saw a lot, got to experience American hospitality, and ate amazing Mexican food.
Just so those reading this thread don't get the wrong idea, Nikki.... None of MY cowboy hats cost even close to that much! I have to say that the hat really suits you. When you return to Arizona, I think you need to find one you like and ship it back home. I suspect you'll stand out in the crowd in the Netherlands wearing a Stetson. Not so much here in Arizona.
@Wessa, it was so fun to meet up with a forum member from across the pond! I'd love it for that to happen more often. @Bikerman and I just missed each other last summer at the Sturgis rally by a day or two sadly. I have connected with two forum member who are here in the U.S.--one from Bisbee who I met at our Tucson Triumph dealership event recently and another from Albuquerque with whom our Tucson MC group has become fast friends. Steve and I would really like to get ourselves across the pond to the UK sometime (before we're too old!) and if we do, I'll definitely do my best to connect with some of you all!
Good point there Sandi. Yes in the shops they can be that expensive. When I’m next across, there hopefully later this year, I’ll make sure to buy one.
Yep, I forgot to mention that. I bought a bag of the horchata rice powder whilst I was there but not tried to make any yet.
