Do you mean that they are more likely to aim at my lights? With regard to car lights my X3 has adaptive headlights which, when activated, totally manage my forward facing light output, not just for oncoming traffic but also vehicles that you are following. The advent of LED lights with their brilliance can be a real problem so I'm surprised that the powers to be haven't legislated on light management systems being made mandatory.
Now if I could find some mufflers that did not look like a bit of drain pipe tacked onto the exhaust pipes and held by a darned P-Clip yet costs a small fortune then I would be replacing the std mufflers on my 97 Trophy 900 as frankly the std mufflers sound pretty damned awful it should sound like a real motor cycle and not a wet fart. Lightening the bike makes it easier to maneuver and let's face it modern bikes are way overweight. Luckily my next bike is easier to deal with exhaust wise and I will be purchasing a pair of Marving long drags in stainless to go on it this coming spring though the std pipes do not sound bad at least like a proper motorcycle the drags from the videos that I have watched sound much better and of course weigh quite a bit less. Now I could do with losing a bit of paunch and do need to get fitter as sitting in a chair for hours on end do not do much for fitness but that was not actually by choice and as things heal I can actually start to do more even simple things like mopping the floor is still painful to do. I start Physio this afternoon and once we know what am allowed to do I can start working on fitness weather permitting as a fall now could make things much worse the thing is that once muscles tone up not looing to bulk up but strength needs to improve and get back to a much better level weight could actually increase as muscle they say weighs more than flab! There is too much money involved in these awful lights for the powers that be to interfere with them our safety does not matter only profits and pockets being filled with perks. Plezier
Now that's funny as many headlights are seemingly designed to be seen and look good to be used in cities under street lights as once out in the wild with no street lighting they fail in actually lighting the road ahead for safe driving. This is why many vehicles are covered in extra lights to make up for the useless std lights fitted y the factory. Plezier
It's odd that Plod does little to address the farming and construction vehicles flaunting this white lights to the front rule as have been dazzled many times by their work lights that the driver/operator seemingly cannot remember how to turn them off. And this inability is international it seems. Plezier
I added a DRL to my Trophy 900 Which was a waste of time as it failed within a few days so need to get a better quality on. The reason s that despite it not being a legal requirement to have lights on except in winter the Police will fine you if you do not have them on ................... totally illegal but hey they are the Police. Will be looking for a better one for it. an yes I have an indicator to replace. Plezier
The adaptive headlights I have on my X3 are the best that I have ever had for lighting the road ahead
I feel pretty sure that designer and builder of any bike knows far better than just about any owner which exhaust should be on the bike. I do wonder if the riders that think they know better also put loud annoying exhaust systems on their cars? If not why not.
I would imagine that it's addressed when it can be, but cops cannot simply be everywhere, all the time and have the time to address everything. I have to admit that it's not an issue I have noticed round here too often and we have a an awful lot of farming vehicles.
FEMA states that it's compulsory to have your headlight on in the daytime in Bulgaria ( I got stuck in a Google rabbit hole) as it is in the vast majority of countries, but not the UK unless the light is poor. Unless you're on about the UK police or it varies by province maybe in Bulgaria? I was surprised by the speed limits for motorcycles too, would have thought they were higher for some reason, why are they so much lower than for cars? I also learnt that Denmark has "the law of insane driving" .
I think you will find that the UK requires dipped headlights in the rain as well. A search found that “They are required at night, in dull/rainy daytime conditions, or when visibility is reduced to 100 metres or less.”

The next time you are driving/riding in the rain check out the number of car drivers who don’t. My X3 has rain sensing wiper activation and after about the third wipe the dipped beams are automatically turned on even if the ambient light sensor has not dropped below the threshold where they would be automatically illuminated.
Manufacturers are lumbered with noise and emission restrictions however on a motorcycle that is 26 years old it is up to the owner/user whether they want to alter it beyond the regulations and of course regulations of 26 years ago were different to what they may be today. Now the exhaust on one of my sportscars is factory std as far as I am aware but no doubt you would complain that it's too noisy as it's on a TVR 4.3l V8 now the other sportscar well that is no way factory std as it has a MGOC Super Sports S/S muffler with a later 6 bolt manifold and aftermarket CAT if my nephews Laguna was parked behind it every time I fired it up it set the Laguna's alarm off. When I was learning to drive many of the cars of younger drivers had the rear muffler replaced by a Peco sports muffler. My first ever proper motorcycle was a 66 Norton Jubilee 250 twin that has Reverse Cone Mega's as mufflers and to be honest the didn't muffle anything it sounded glorious I also swapped out the really heavy emission control mufflers on the 79 T140 Bonnie for a pair of 50's pattern resonator mufflers these were empty inside no baffles inside this is how they used to be a glorious deep burble that turned into a roar at higher revs then there was the Honda 750FB DOHC streetfighter/lowrider that had straight through drag pipes on it that one howled when on song!!! It certainly woke up more than one sleeping driver . I am lucky in that I am towards the end of my riding life as to how long that will be is anyones guess at this point. Plezier
No idea as to whom FEMA is but the Bulgarian road trafic laws says the headlights are only required between November and end of March but as I mentioned this does not suit the police who make up their own rules. Until you mentioned the speed limit for motorcycles I had not heard about this and the Police have certainly not enforced it we get plenty of touring bikes from all over and except in towns and villages I have not seen them only doing 80kmh. As yet I have never ridden on the motorway here there only a couple and unless I go to Sofia on a bike am unlikely to do so. Plezier
Before leaving the UK we lived in Lincolnshire a really rural farming area and these ignorant tractor and machine driver/operators were a right PITA. The laws simply do not apply to them or at least it seems that is what they really believe. Plezier
Peco exhaust on an original Mini Cooper..... glorious, reverse cone megaphones on my old Triumph 500 twin..... what a sound! I'm in a hotel at the moment and every morning a guy rides past on a Harley with straight through pipes..... wife isn't too happy about it but to me it's the best alarm clock ever!! It's all changing though..... it's going to become a very quiet world.
My old Tbird in the garage that has yet to have its phoenix moment has a pair of Dunstal Megas on it. The twitter on the overrun was sublime.
