Hi all I've recently fitted an aftermarket quickshifter to my 2017 765r problem is bike will now not start, started beforehand ok, so unplugged quickshifter and still won't start, bike is in neutral and sides stand down (tried up aswell) and clutch lever in but nothing ,all lights come on fuel pump primed, help or ideas needed thank you .
Is it possible you may have blown a fuse? Worth checking to make sure. Double check that everything you disconnected has been reconnected. If you have access to diagnostics you could check for any fault codes.
Not Quickshifter related but my Speed Triple has the same none starting issues intermittently. I've traced it back to the LH switch gear pod and wiggling (technical procedure ) the wiring sorts it. Worth a try.
anything worth a try, I've checked and all the usual suspects it went the other day before quickshifter was plugged in although I did stall it, I've even unplugged it and tried it but nothing very puzzling
What make and model of quickshifter have you installed, some are not plug and play. Do you have an OBD reader, for instance, the Dealertool would show any fault codes. There are a number of things to remember with these Street Triples, even disconnecting the battery without using an ECU Memory Saver OBD2 or similar can freeze the dash and will not let you start the bike. If it ran fine prior to installing the quickshifter, then it narrows it down to a possible cause, a simple thing like a blown fuse. The good news is the pump primes, lights come on etc. Make sure you haven't disturbed the wiring from the factory QS connector further along the loom, but check the easy things first (fuse), It is always tricky diagnosing issues remotely. If you have lived locally, I would offer to come and have a look.
Appreciate that thanks had a friend come round with his meter checking everything retraced my steps checked all fuses cleaned connectors but nothing , but 8 did take live lead off battery for about 20 seconds to move a trapped wire for trickle charge, all I'm thinking now it's got something to do with that like you said also or has stopped working too so the mystery gets more complicated
I forgot to add that when removing/disconnecting the battery, always remove the negative terminal first, then the positive, and on reconnecting, the positive first, then the negative. Failure to do it in that order and it can make the dash go blank.
Welcome to the forum. I have read of some machines that disconnecting the battery can throw a wobbly. However, I have disconnected the battery a number of times on my 2019 Striple R without encountering any such problems. Whether I used the procedure advised by the Iceman I cannot say but when you think about it, it makes sense as it would prevent the possibility of accidentally shorting the battery out with loose leads.
