    Hi all,
I want to adjust the angle of the gear shifter on my 2024 Tiger which has the Shift Assist accessory so that my touring boots can fit under it.
According to the manual I need to remove the seat, the tank, unplug the shift assist and dissemble it partly, and then adjust the rod that the shift assist sits on... which sounds madness.
On the other hand, I've seen videos of owner adjusting the angle of the gear shift by adjusting the two locknuts, which looks like a 5 min job.
Ive tried doing that and the nuts are not moving and its not really a part you can put a lot of force on.
Has anyone else come across this/managed to adjust their shifter?

    Cheers,
    Pete

Thanks! Yep thats the video I found as well which gave me hope that I didn't have to dismantle the whole bike to adjust the gear shift ha.
The nuts on the rod on that Tiger seem to be moving pretty easily whereas the ones on mine are not budging. Its only a couple of months old so theyre not corroded etc but maybe the dealer put threadlock on perhaps.
I'll put some more WD40 on and give it another go - thanks very much!

Isn't one a left hand thread?

thats correct yep - the top nut is a standard thread and the bottom one is a reverse thread. So I tried undoing the top nut whilst holding the bottom nut for purchase, but the whole assembly begins to want to move (ie the rod and the shift assist sensor too) so I didnt want to get too heavy-handed and break the whole thing.
The nuts are supposed to be torqued to 6nm according to the manual for the shift assist component which, whilst tight, shouldnt feel this tight.
I'll keep at it and update the thread if I have any luck!
    Cheers
