Hello to all, im from long island new york this is my first triumph (06 sprint st 1050 with about 7k miles) bought it not running, previous owner said that mice got around the wiring. specially around the MAS sensor and Barometer by the air filter. but he said he fixed it. bike cranks but no start. the bike only starts with started fluid for a sec and then shuts off. (at least i know a have a spark and compression) thought i was a fuel issue so i bought a new fuel pump and battery. but still the problem persists. is there something that prevents fuel from coming out of the injectors ? It is such a beautiful bike and i cant wait to ride it. So please members i need your help. thank you! i could post pictures or a video if needed, thanks !
Try looking at the post near the start of this section, Technical Help, think it is the 5th one down.
I would probably start by checking the fuses and inspecting the repaired wiring to confirm that the repair is good. Can you hear your new fuel pump priming when you turn on the ignition? Have you checked the airbox and filter for mice nests? Might be worth inspecting the rest of the wiring and rubber vacuum pipes to confirm that they are all intact and connected. Is the small bore rubber tube connected to the underside of the MAP sensor which is attached to the airbox?
Hi, Triple X. Ive checked the fuses and the wiring as well, so far they are good. I can also hear the fuel pump priming when i turn the ignition. the air box and air filter seem ok. and yes the rubber tube it is connected to the map sensor as well. i will double check to make sure the rubber vacuum pipes are connected. there are 2 rubber hoses that will connect to the bottom of the fuel tank that i left unplugged when trying to start but i dont think that could be that case. but it is weird since when i sprayed starting fluid it runs for a sec. im leaning more towards fuel related like something its preventing fuel coming out ??
@renzovc16 Welcome to the family. You already have the best answers and hopefully will be up and running soon. Do tap the upload a file button bottom right corner and show the bike of.
Maybe the injectors are blocked if the bike has been idle for some time? It might be worth hooking it up to diagnostics to see if it throws up any fault codes. Is the MIL light on? Might be worth doing a fuel pressure test?
hi triple X, yes i think that might be the case, i will remove the injectors and see if they are spraying fuel. the MIL lights its on when i try to start it. i will also buy the OBD cable to get some codes. fuel pressure test yes as well, even though it is a new fuel pump but it is worth checking !
