This past Sunday was the semi-annual 520 Moto Show at a cool local place called Gear Shifters Arizona. Gear Shifters has been around for several years now and bills itself as a place for motorcycle folks to hang out. https://gearshiftersaz.com/pages/about-us So, since I "facilitate" our Sunday rides ;) and since I love motorcycle gatherings and shows, off we went to the 520 Show after we began the day over coffee and breakfast.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time we've gone to the 520 Show and I enjoy it every time. It's low key and there is always a very broad array of motorcycles even if not tons of them. They have drawings and door prizes and a coffee cart. And I won a tee-shirt before I even entered the drawing! (Thank you, wonderful hubby, who wrote in my name on his entry coupon rather than his own) And you can vote for the "People's Choice Award" for best bike. It's just fun all the way around. :grinning: Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos in this thread. There will be far more photos than text--contrary to my usual threads for those of you who know me. ;):joy: The motorcycles can speak for themselves.

Steve's Fat Boy and my Low Rider ST. I told Steve he should have entered his 2001 Fat Boy. It's nearly 25 years old!

But this Harley is significantly older than Steve's! Check out the license plate.

This lovely newer Triumph bobber had a most interesting exhaust! I heard the young woman who owned it talking about it and thought it cool that she knew how to do beautiful TIG welding...until I heard her say "I bought it off the internet". :joy:

Here are some pics of the building that Gear Shifters has. They have items on consignment like motorcycle jackets and boots, some goodies they sell like coffee mugs and stickers, and they store bikes and also will sell them on consignment.

I met the owner of this red Road Glide when we arrived and I was putting my jacket in my saddlebag. She had nice things to say about my Low Rider ST and we chatted a bit. She told me about her bike and later I realized that THIS was her bike! She's probably a bit older than me and about four or five inches shorter...and this is a big a*s bike! She also mentioned her bike had a custom paint job. You can't really tell from the photo, but the metal flake in this paint job is v-e-r-y sparkly!

Steve chatting with Mady, a young woman who works at our local Cycle Gear store. He talked with her about her first experience at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this past summer. She went there to work at the Cycle Gear vendor store. Said she loved the experience but would ride there next time rather than drive. She also said she'd probably work as a bartender on Main Street and make FAR more money than she did at the vendor booth! ;):joy::joy::joy:

That exhaust on the Triumph Bobber looks like a UK made Thornton Hundred part costing around £2500!

That looks like a cracking day @Sandi T (and I won't even mention the level my weather envy is at - it's very grey and wet here at the moment o_O). How lovely that you won a T shirt without even trying too, hubby's a good one .

I'll have to check that out, @TRIPLE X. She looked kinda like the barista at Starbuck's down the street kind of young woman than someone who'd drop that much on an exhaust. But then, who knows? Looks can be (and often are) deceiving!

It was definitely a cracking day, @Mrs Visor! After the show I wanted to ride more in the glorious sunny weather. But no one wanted to join me so what did I do? Kept riding on my own, of course. ;):joy: Wish I could send you some of our warmth and sunshine. :kissing_heart: Yes, my hubby is definitely a good one!

Hopefully one day we'll get out to Arizona and I can soak in all of the sun and heat and see the cactus forest!!

That would be fantastic, @Mrs Visor! Our buddy, Russell, has a primo Air B&B guest house only 5 miles from where Steve and I live. There's another forum member on here (@Marco Wikstrom) who has stayed in Russell's place when he and one of his riding friends come down to Tucson each year. Steve and I would love to get you and Helmut on bikes and show you our beloved Sonoran Desert!

You're welcome, @Markus! It's always a cool event and a really net venue, too. :)
