Thank you for the kind comment.

As for the Trophy waiting it's going to have too before the accident I found the weight a challenge and need to get fitter and regain my strength the Ducati actually felt like lightweight after the Trophy much to my nephews annoyance I am going to need a lighter bike again to get back into the swing of things again but we have time as I no longer ride in the cold and bad weather it's not like I have to anymore now just ride for the enjoyment of it  :D. Will not be getting rid of the Trophy as I really like the way it handles just need to get fitter again.

Leak sorted just needed to tighten a hose clip

Once the belly pans was removed the leak could be seen and the worm drive clip tightened and the leak stopped.

Gawd, wouldn't it be great if all the problems were that simple ?

Big ride yesterday for another mate succumbed to the rust, heaps there as he was known all over .. funnily enough, loud Harley's don't seem to have it over a 1200 Bonnie with nothing else but straight pipes  !
Went to many off his old haunts .. didn't even know about some of the little, hidden away bars .... he got about alright ?

He was a collector of, (everything really?) hundred's, maybe thousands of bikes and cars of the sorta old 'Matchbox' style.. amazing ?
Well his missus had the lid to the coffin machined out and many of the favourites were with him ... brilliantly done !

Good luck on that one. Have never been a fan of footie was force to play it at school oh I tried going to real matches friends dad took us to Crystal Palace to watch them play Sheffield don't ask if it was td or Wednesday that was over 50 years ago now. Have been to the "real" Wembley to see England play was it twice or three times? Anyway England lost each time once to Italy the other was France that I do recall this was in the early 1970's school trip and a Sunday school trip. Then the team still Had Moore, Charlton, Stiles and with Banks in goal of course.

Thanks I was really glad it was an easy fix already have too many "projects" on the go that need finishing but cannot do them for now. Must admit though was a bit worried as this is the first liquid cooled bike that I have had and replacing the coolant and flushing the system last June was my first experience with one will have to keep her running as it took three attempts to start up and boy there was an awful lot of condensation out of the exhaust will have to fire her up every week or fortnight in future.

One of the projects is an engine swap in my MGF and being mid engine it's not quite so straight forwards of a job.

I run my bike up every few weeks during the winter if I haven’t been riding it. I like to keep it on the road waiting for decent riding days.

Your MGF project sounds like fun. Always liked them, but with a young family it wasn’t a practical choice for me at the time they were readily available. And now I would struggle to get in or out of one.

The MGF is easy to get in and out of the TR Chimaera ............. well that is a different story altogether the doors on the Chimaera have a very limited opening angle. My MGF is 75th Anniversary edition it's #1864 of 2000 made I rescued it back in 2015 it was the third one that I rescued had to sell the others when we relocated out here. Bought my fourth one out here but it turned out not only to have been crashed at some point and poorly repaired ................. well bodged but someone had replaced the hydragas suspension with part of a Suplex system I say part of as not all of it fitted and what was fitted is well and truely bodged we though the hydragas just needed pumping up but it was missing. The front crash bar had been welded solid and the cooling system had been altered and bodged. From the outside it looked OK it was not until I got it up on stands to check the spheres that the problems were found there was simply too much to put right so it became a donor it's engine is destined for the 75th.

The 75th Anniversary the colour is Mulberry which might explain why I chose the Merlot Red for my Triumph Trophy.

Very nice MGF - I had one back in 2005, great little car and a good club scene too. Replaced it with a new MX5 (company car allowance), also a great car and club, although I never really had the same emotional attachment that I had with the older MG.

    Funny old world!

It is and it's totally old school no PAS, No ABS, no Traction control and no Air Bags. RWD with Ltd slip diff the engine is based on the Rover 3.5 V8 but built specially for TVR the 4.3 was only available for a short time and it's know to be free revving spins up more quickly than the others and 1993 is an early Chimaera at that time they did the 4.0 and the 4.3 then they moved to the 4.5 and the 5.0. Compared to modern performance cars it's nothing special but as Clarkson said of TVR's they are brutal and one day they will turn on you and kill you. They are known or the rear letting go if you don't watch it. The Chimaera is a genuine Grand Tourer and I drove mine down through Europe fro England to Bulgaria and it was a very nice drive indeed if we forget the torrential rain in Germany.

Think this thread needs to get back to bikes , so.......

Went for a late afternoon blast on the Street Cup around the country lanes to get in a quick fix before the forecast week of rain sets in.

The Vance and Hines are quite loud but the sheep didn't seem to mind. Maybe that should be the test for aftermarket cans; if the local livestock don't run for cover as you approach, they aren't too loud!

Was surprisingly dry this morning but threatening rain - opted to take the Tiger for a quick run round only for it not to want to start. Been on the oximiser trickle charger since last ridden and the battery is only 12 months old, so a bit confused.

Put it back on charge and noticed the oximiser kept flickering off and on. Must be a bad connection internally as after much turning it this way and that it was staying on.

An hour later it fired up so went for a good 40 minute ride with the heated grips on high to stress the system. Stopped at my daughters for an hour and come time to leave it fired up no issue. Went to the Shell and filled up (restarted no problem) and returned home. Happy it’s not a bike issue I’ve ordered a new charger from Sportsbikeshop.

Downside was with all the messing about and waiting to get a charge to start etc by the time I left my daughters it was lashing down. It is November mind

Yes it's been raining here and only 12c degrees so even if I could ride would be doing so. BTW here you do not see sheep in the fields like that instead they will be being herded by a shepherd with herd protection dogs there are Jackals, Wolves and stray mutts though not so common but also Brown Bears. Goats and Cows are also still herded here.

We also have plenty of "back" lanes but one needs to take care about broken road surfaces nephew lost a new front tyre on his car the other evening in the rain what appeared to be a puddle was a nasty pothole the burst the sidewall.

So take care and stay safe I really envy you being able to get out on a bike !

Great photo and nice looking bike. I like your approach for deciding on how loud exhaust pipes should be. Well done!

Only had my speed triple 1200 about 6 weeks, have not ridden it for the last 3 as i just cannot get on with it,1st time iv'e ever had ohlins front and back and after countless runs up and down a real bumpy road could not get it anywhere near even rideable,so took it to an ohlins specialist and had all the sag set up,no matter what we do it is still too hard and unforgiving so i had had enough and yesterday traded it in for a brand new tiger 900 gt pro,it is a very similar riding position to my ktm but at least they differ greatly in the engine department, one's a v twin and the other a triple,so will take the speed up to the dealer next week in a van and pick up the tiger.
