As it was bright and sunny yesterday, I got out on the Tuono and went up to Whitby with a friend on his Ducati. I'd forgotten its the Goth weekend there this coming weekend, so the place was already filling up with people in all sorts of weird and wonderful costumes.I was planning one last ride on it today before Sorning it and consigning it to the garage 'til Spring, but the weather today has other ideas, so yesterday was my last ride on it of 2025.

Yeah, I got mine washed and dried before the rain started ready for polish, lubrication and hibernation!

    Tea break now though. ;)

Today Helmut and I went out on the Multistrada and Fireblade and went to HR4K, Baffle Haus and Honey Cafe (the last stop just to get out of the rain) which was 95 miles.

The weather started off quite nice and then rained, rained some more, became a biblical downpour flash flooding the roads and then relented and turned back into just rain. Kit and people now drying out and the bikes are in need of a really good clean o_O.

An offroad day today as it started off raining, and that just adds to the fun, right?

    20251101_125806.jpg

I can hit more of these with this bike than I can a shotgun :confounded: two today, note the brake caliper after it flew straight into it as I was doing 50 mph.

A bit of Father and Son bonding time : unamused:

Well that bent the chain :dizzy:

Ummm.... so to save the day, a bit of judicious operation of an adjustable spanner was needed with the sprocket acting as a clamp for the other section ;)

 success and on our way.

Hey get off, yours is the other one

So the little lad now declares he's just started on reserve :confounded:
Ok not to worry as I have at least 20 litres onboard :p
More lanes followed, well not that many more as the tank run dry after only 7 miles of reserve

    20251101_142943.jpg

Now all we need to do is to take a bit out of that one, mix in a bit of 2 stroke and stick it in that one :joy: sounds easy......

With a 1.25 litre top up we made our way to Seaways and the fuel station around the corner.

    20251101_151134.jpg

Steak pies in here are good, and recommended, washed down with a pot of tea.
The afternoon has now moved on time wise and so it's road only from here, but back country roads to keep it interesting.

A few miles from home, and I genuinely recall thinking with the kmx in front, this little bike doesn't half perform well.....

Another successful day out on the Kove with a very varied mix of roads.

    20251101_170812.jpg

But why only one bike in the picture I hear you ask?
    :poop:

I was out on the Husaberg today after a 6 month, off road “holiday”. The recent heavy rain has wreaked havoc on some of the regular lanes with washout and ruts/gulleys forming. Quite a few 4x4’s out and about too, I passed 2 convoys coming the other way on narrow routes. Interesting!:joy:
I carry one of these in a small backpack as the Husa’s tank is a measly 8.2L.

If you're ever looking for something to do, or thinking of retiring but unsure if you'll get bored, then the answer is simple..... BUY A TWO STROKE :joy:

...... the other bike went pop around 2 miles from home :dizzy:

I took his helmet and rucksack home, washed my bike and awaited his arrival.
Mine done and put away, his arrives, and so I wash his off whilst he gets a drink and a change of socks :joy:
He's had wet feet for hours after a very early puddle filled his boots.

Bike on the table and strip to see the issue.

    IMG-20251101-WA0013.jpg

Err.... that's not looking good :poop::eyes:

Thanks for the link I'll pass it on ;)

With a 30 litres capacity onboard the Kove I usually fill up at the beginning of the day then I don't have to think about it anymore.

Wife stops us spannering as "TEA IS READY!!!"
Obviously, the only conversation over tea is pistons, rings and nickasil :joy:

And so back to it, head off and a look inside

    :poop:

So that will be another new barrel and piston then, in true two stroke fashion :confounded:

I ran out of fuel one time a few years ago, primarily because I had taken the tank off while working on the bike and forgot to reconnect the flippin’ low fuel light connector when I refitted it! Thankfully I was on a main road, about a mile from the nearest filling station. It’s quite a light bike to ride but not when you have to push the damned thing that far!

Nowt today but we’re playing out tomorrow. Not far just a 100-150 mile little loop in the Yorkshire Dales. for dry weather.

I was going to SORN the ditchpump yesterday, but decided not to in the hope I get at least 1 more ride in during November. It'll definitely get SORN'd at the end of this month though as it'll be put in it's vac bag to avoid the condensation in the garage due to the cold to warmer and damp temperature changes we seem to get more of now. If only I was a multi millionaire, I'd be off to my alternative pile in NZ to avoid the British winter. Life's a bitch :joy:

    Is that a CRF 230 or 250 @ajc400 ?

@Mrs Visor a CRF 230 would be a good starter bike, 4 stroke, reliable, lightweight and enough power for trail riding and fairly gentle offroading.
The 230 is a fair step down in height and weight to the 250 so far more manageable in the tricky stuff.
