You'd be an old man waiting to see anything of this one ... it's about 6th on the list at the moment, and then, our auction site, unbeliveably has 5 (yep .. five !!! ) Thunderbird Sport's on there, with one, a perfectly original '98 .. changing thoughts a little ?? Yer never know, eh ? :D

Looking at when the bike was last MOT`d through DVLA site and it comes up with 2007 !!! Didn`t say that in description. Going to have to approach this with more of a recommission rather than just put back on road. Explains the rusted out tank and a few other things. Seems like it`s had fairing cleaned and wheels but when taking rear muddie out top swing arm caked in dirt. Bit more of a project than I thought but saves me getting bored over Winter.

As people have said bike looks good but under the clean skin, it`s a little different. Glad didn`t use the centre stand too much. IMGP0031.JPG IMGP0030.JPG IMGP0029.JPG

As many times as you like, is ok mate !
Did you hit something to show up how the stand's got to this ?
I'm looking ( once over the laziness ) of biffing the stand ... I find it a prick to use, and it's weight anyway ... took the mufflers off, 17.6k, around 40 odd lb ???

No didn`t hit anything just not needed so most bikes that have them I take them off. Prefer using a paddock stand. Will be re-using the end cans for now. Going to just do the wheels then get the olde girl running again.

I found adding a lifting handle made it so much easier.

We were talking about doing that, did you need to make it up yourself .. or can you buy them from somewhere ?
We're out for a funeral ride today, ( another ???? ) and there will be a few 1200's, so I'll eye what others are doing ?

The later 1998 1200`s had a handle already there. Hinged one so it tucked out the way once used. Assuming the 900 had the same. Someone on here might have a picture
