Hi everyone, Today I’d like to share how to reset the service reminder on Triumph motorcycles. I’ll be using my Tiger 900 Rally as an example, but the same method generally works across many other Triumph models as well.

When the service reminder light appears after a scheduled maintenance interval, and you've completed the necessary servicing, there are two main ways to clear the reminder and set the next interval based on mileage or time.

Method 1: Manual Reset via the Instrument Menu
You can try resetting the service reminder manually through the instrument menu. Navigate to the "SERVICE" section, where you can input the next service mileage and due date.

However, this method doesn't always fully clear the service reminder. Some users have reported that even after setting the mileage and date, the reminder remains visible on the screen...

Method 2: Using a Diagnostic Tool
The more reliable way is to use a diagnostic tool to reset the service reminder and set the next service interval.

For example, with the OBDSTAR device I personally use, once it automatically detects and accesses the instrument system of the vehicle, you can directly enter the next service mileage and service date. After confirming the settings, the service reminder turns off successfully.

Important: Before performing this operation, make sure the vehicle's instrument date is set correctly—otherwise, the service date might be stored incorrectly during the reset.

    What year is your Tiger?
Some of the newer Euro5 bikes have the ECU locked so the service reminder can only be reset by a Triumph dealer with the Triumph software. That’s what I’ve been told and found with my 2024 Scrambler 1200. I have the Dealertool diagnostic software which will perform many functions, such as fault reading/clearance but will not reset the service interval, despite it doing so on my previous 2019 and 2022 Street Scramblers.

Can you please explain how - once you have navigated to the "SERVICE" screen - you go about inputting the mileage and/or date for the next service? I can go to the SERVICE screen, but there is no option to input the mileage or date and I have not yet hit on the right keystroke sequence, evidently.

    Thanks!
