Greetings thanks for letting me join this forum. My problem is my Tiger fell over on the right hand side and sustained little damage but will not start now. The battery is fully charged and I have checked all fuses including the starter solenoid fuse but can’t get the starter motor to turn. I pull the clutch in and hit the starter button but it won’t turn over. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks in advance Steve
@Steve Christie Welcome to the family. Is the ignition turning on and fuel pump priming. Check all the safety switch's. You may have to disconnect the battery and say leave overnight then try again
Hi and welcome to the forum - Was the bike running when it went down on its side? If so it’s most likely activated the tip over switch/sensor. Should be mentioned in the handbook for how to reset it.
I had a friend have a look who is good at diagnosing problems and he thinks the electrical cables were pulled tight as there’s no power on the left side switches other than the heated grips. Would anyone know if there are electrical connections under the fuel tank that relate to the left hand switches. I also forgot to mention I put handlebar risers on which would have added some stretch to the cables Thanks in advance Steve
Unlikely to be the tip over switch then - daft question but the engine kill switch is in the run position isn’t it. If so try spraying inside the handlebar cluster with contact cleaner and work the kill switch off and on a number of times
Yes the switch is in the run position and I have sprayed it. Today I’m going to take the switch apart to check continuity.
Good news gentlemen I have resolved the problem. I fiddled with the connections on the left hand side block connectors and all came to life. A word of warning if you put risers on it could put a strain on your cables especially if the bike tips over. Thank you for any input. Steve
