Colloquialism aside, do the folks at Oxford claim a difference in the meaning of pants, in comparison to the meaning of trousers? Where do slacks fit into this equation?
I'm with @Bolosun on this. What a dreadful pop band! As a kid just getting into rock music, I saw an article on Kiss and thought "Ooh they look like a proper rock group, must hear them!" So I bought Kiss Alive. Talk about disappointment
I have just replaced my Caberg Ghost helmet for the Nightstorm With a Frank Thomas YM-833 helmet. Truth be known Mrs Visor has never been happy with the Caberg as the chin guard is only made of rubber and from my point of view there was no real ventilation so it could get a bit stifling in the summer as the visor part was sealed on your face with a foam surround but because the whole visor and chin guard flipped up there was no other option. So far it seems like a good buy and it comes with a dark visor as standard. They do fit slightly big so I had to go down to a small to get it to fit properly.
I’m not a fan of the flip up front helmet design - never had one and obviously the police use them so must be fine, but IMHO it just doesn’t feel right that the front is a separate piece to the main shell.
I felt the same way years ago but they have come a long way obtaining all the latest and highest certification but yes at one time it would seem that there would be a weakness at the joints or locking mechanism but they are so convenient for everyday riding I don't think I'd take one around the track though
Love my flip front - easy on and off, helps with specs, and garages don't ask you to take your helmet off when you stop for petrol!!
I think helmet design has come a long way over the last few years. I have a couple of Shoei flip front helmets and to be honest I would not have anything else. They are certified to ride with them open and as @ajc400 says very easy to get on and off, with slots for my glasses to fit in.
My first flip front helmet was a caberg and I found it quite uncomfortable and had to take a scalpel to the polystyrene and trim in places at the time they were quite a budget option but noticed they are far more expensive now I suppose that's down to the popularity of their designs they were always in front with styling such as the storm trooper type lid but I have been looking at the Frank Thomas helmets and they now offer good value and it's a brand which is well known and been around for a long time I think J&S might own the brand now or are partnered with the manufacturer
I've been using flip front helmet for years now. Started off with shoei. Now using Schuberth. I change helmets every 5 years as per the recommendations. The polystyrene layer hardens with time and loses its absorbent qualities should the worst happen. My latest is the C5. Best yet and crash certified in the open position too. The attached comms is really neat and unobtrusive. You only get one head !
I’ve tried a multitude of flip fronts but have returned them all as I find them too wide. They look ridiculous on me.
I feel the same with white helmets I think it's the colour because white trainers make my feet look big as well
Shoei neotec for me, white mk1 for 7 years, then wine red mk2. Could,nt live with the colour, that is now a spare. (unless somebody wants it) I now have the MK3, in white, that was a bargain. Unused, with fiited Senna £400. Retail nearly 1k. Had a couple of close calls due to idiots, i figure if they can see the target, then they should not hit it. I also use a helmet cam. Tony
They use the same old excuse, sorry officer, i did,nt see him. And sometimes i think they do see you, and there thought is ITS ONLY A BIKE. grrrr
One of the most useful cheap items. I recently bought this mirror on a stick for a grand total of £4 (well it does light up!!) It is so useful for checking the oil level on my Speed 400. As owners will know this is a rather tricky operation to carry out on your own as the bike has no provision to fit a centre stand and putting it on a paddock stand means the bike is no longer level. I can sit on the bike making sure it is upright and position the mirror so that I can easily see the oil inspection window - job done!!
Just had to do it the agv at this price no brainer plus the colours will go with the firestorm being in a Rossi colour way The Frank Thomas it's a two way purchase firstly the colour and style is ideal for the Thunderbird plus it will look the part when I hopefully get the bike to where I'm happy with it and would like to do the distinguished gentleman run well those are my excuses and I'm sticking by them
