I have a 2015 T100 Bonneville which I have had since new; 70,000 some odd thousand kilometres with no problems at all. I love the machine BUT; my 75 year old knees and hips find that the position of the foot pegs causes hip and knee pain after a 1/2 hour or so in the saddle. At my stage in life , I don't need to bring pain and discomfort on myself. I fabbed up a set of highway pegs that allow me to stretch my legs a bit but of course that takes my feet away from the gear change and the brake pedal which, in case of an emergency on the road, takes a split second to reach the gear change and brake pedal which could be costly.

I still have the T100 and I get it out on the road periodically but my current main ride is a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650; it has more of a cruiser riding position. It is a really enjoyable machine but does not have the scoot that the Bonneville has.

a few years ago the Triumph America had more of a cruiser position with the foot pegs and brake/gearchange controls moved up to the forward mounted pegs.

Does anyone think that it would be possible to move the pegs and controls forward on the T100?

@michael mccallum Welcome to the family. Yes there are foot peg adjusters on the market probably not enough to make it a lot better. But there are options like raising the seat height and comfort that all together may assist a bit.

I’ve seen the highway bar/peg mod and understand your concern.

I’m not familiar with adaptability of the foot controls from an America to a T100.

As much as I hate to say it, it might be best to look at a trade. I know you’ve owned yours since new and at a stage of life that letting it go for something else isn’t appealing but, you only have one life and if you can’t find the solution for your existing machine, making the choice to switch it out for the right machine could be the solution?

I’ve ridden the America LT with floor boards and found the rider ergonomics very comfortable and it’s still a very appealing machine much like the T100 is.

    Cheers!

Yes, it's definitely possible. You need a set of forward controls. Companies like Norman Hyde or TEC Bike Parts make bolt-on kits specifically for the Bonneville that move the pegs and controls forward. It's a straightforward swap that will give you the cruiser position you're looking for without permanent modification to the bike.
