Whats The Last Thing You Bought?

Mrs Visor and I are doing an off road training day with Sweet Lamb https://www.adventurerallybike.co.uk next month but I realised I didn't have any appropriate trousers (only have jeans or leathers) so I have just bought these Triumph Intrepid pants from eBay. They are new and from a reputable dealer but about 30% less than in store. I will obviously reserve judgement until they arrive both in terms of eBay and fit, review in the Clothing section in a few days.

Oxford spotlights to go on engine bars, seems to have made a difference with being noticed, whether from behind to overtake or with cars at side turnings. Rural roads.

 

That's a Yamaha DT175MX isn't it, to give it the full title?

Great bikes around the late 1970's and I knew a few who had them for trail riding. Blue seemed a popular colour option around us.

 

I thought it was going to be a dt175mx when I went to see it but it turns out it is a mx175. They were pretty much the same as the dt but different forks and exhaust seemingly and were for off-road only, no lights ( or lighting coil) indicators etc. but basically it is a dt really

 

@Dod how about this beastie that I saw at Squires cafe the other day.
It has a high and low gearbox with a throw lever near the front sprocket.

I can't say I've seen one of these before, have you?



And there was a nice Yamaha IT 200 in the car park.

 

Last thing I bought...
An automatic bike. But won't sell the ST 1050. On a daily basis I use the Triumph more than the Honda but my left hand won't handle long ride with a clutch.

Also the DT175MX had a box section swing arm....

I had one from new and it was a great, great bike. With a reed valve in it, a "Sammy Miller" end can and a one tooth larger rear sprocket it was brilliant fun!

Guess what, we booked the Bergidyll hotel in Andermatt, and we had the room 22.. We didn't knew that the filming crew stayed there, and Sean Connery had the room 21!!

@Eldon. I haven’t seen one or even heard of the Suzuki with the high and low gearbox. I like the IT, that’s nice - some interesting bikes there is that a Re5 Suzuki there too?

 

It most certainly is, definitely one for my dream bike stable.

 

Eagle eyed @Dod , yes it was a Suzuki RE5 and in good condition.
I gave the wife a quick lesson on rotary wankels ....... ...... straight in one ear and out of the other

 

I absolutely agree mate, I noticed when doing the research that non textile trousers all seem to be called pants and textile ones are trousers. I guess manufacturers are trying to differentiate between the two styles and maybe prevent confusion for the buyers.
