Hi Guys, I am new the the forum. I have been riding for over 22 years. 4 months ago I just bought a Daytona 600 2004. Unfortunately had some issues with it already and decided to join the forum. The tail-light of my Daytona 600 2004 is not turning on. I ordered a new Tail-light(The tail-light for r1 2004) since it was the same that was on the bike when I purchased it. Weirdly enough on none of the 12v lines I get 12v only when I press the front break lever I get 12.4 V The bike has new regulator + new stator. Any suggestions are welcome. Ps. The taillight was working fine before it stopped working. Thank you in advance!
Hi there! Welcome to the forum! Your bike looks great! I hope you can solve this issue with one of our forum "technicians" soon.
@kevinsky87 Welcome to the family. Nice bike thanks for the picture. Test your taillight for power getting to it with a multi meter. Sometimes the connections get corroded or squashed and don't make a contact clean them up and make sure they have contact. If they don't have power to the tailight then there may be a break in the wiring or conectors.
Hi Joe, The issue has been finally fixed... a blown fuse so yesterday I did the whole rewiring to prevent this from happening since a fuse probably blows because of short circuit. Unfortunately the person I bought the bike from did a horrible job with the wiring... alot of wires just open in there so no wonder the fuse was burnt.
Hi Markus, Thank you for and indeed the bike is old 2004 but low mileage.... got it with 40.000 km on it so not that bad with for a bike this old The issue is solved thankfully.
Hi and welcome to the forum - best bet is to get a wiring diagram, identify which wire should be providing the tail light 12 volts and start working your way back from the light checking and cleaning connectors as you go to see where the volts are not getting passed.
@Boothman thank you I did exactly that and found out that I had a burnt fuse.... on my hayabusa I only have 1 fuse box but on the Daytona there is a secondary fusebox that I did not know about The issue is fixed now after replacing the fuse and rewiring.
