Bummer on the fork seal, @Mrs Visor. Hope you've gotten that fixed up. How many Bike and Brew stamps do you have now?!

The person that I always use is on holiday, so will talk to them when they get back about the forks. A friend of ours has asked if I want to use his business unit to take the forks out myself, but I don't have the confidence I don't think, although always used to do all my own car servicing so am not mechanically useless.....bikes are just more daunting to me!

I pretty much leave it to the pros...and that I am definitely NOT! That said, I've not even met you in person but have no doubt that you could definitely do most anything you put your mind to! Including motorcycle mechanical work.

Life is still rather frustrating (as was our day off yesterday) so again stuff it I'm working a half day and clearing my head. Colin agreed to join me on his BSA and a morning run out to Flash Bar Stores in the Peak District was the delightful order of the day. Gorgeously sunny:cool: if chilly start to the day 9degC.

For those who know the Cheshire area: BeeLine set to fun route, Northwich to Flashbar Stores included Astbury to Mossley to Tittesworth Reservoir (we really need a lot more rain never seen it so low), past the Roaches to FlashBar stores.

Loads of parked cars and bikes made us wonder is we'd get a table inside, but the cars obviously belonged to hikers, who can blame them it's been a beautiful sunny if cool day.

Full English washed down with Hot Chocolate:yum and then retraced our steps to The Roaches, for a photo stop.

    IMG_4496.jpg

    IMG_4498.jpg

I've never actually visited the Roaches in the twenty three years I've lived and ministered in this area, must get out and walk this bit with SWMBO before I retire (If I ever get to).

    IMG_4500.jpg

Then back roads (Beeline set to fun) across the western Pennines back towards Congleton but skirted to the North and back home by 13:30.

I'm grateful for the lovely weather and resulting excellent views, because with all the car drivers, cyclists and farmers our speeds out to Flash Bar and back were low:rolleyes:. (driving licence very safe;)).

Days like today need to be made the most of there won't be many before next spring. Enjoy the ride all:cool:.

I just found this bike on Craigs List and bought it yesterday from a nice couple in Spokane, Washington. 2021 Speed Twin w/ 2340 miles on the clock in perfect condition. This is my favorite color combo of the Speed Twins. Test rode a new one and simply do not care for the single clock offset in the front. Love the vintage look of this bike. Put 100 miles on her today in Montana and zero regrets- but not selling my T120 either!

Beautiful sunny and cool morning and according to apple's weather app the next ten days will be wet. So, since I forgot to get my service log book stamped a week ago when my bike had its annual MOT and Service, I thought I'd do a quick round trip to Staffordshire Triumph.

Mixture of A and B roads all virtually empty and only two road works:).

Unfortunately one large puddle across the road (overflowing drain near a farm) does now mean I have to clean the bike:rolleyes:.

Left at ten and home by 12, plenty of time for work still so didn't feel guilty, especially as I'll be at a long evening meeting tonight.

Its those little unexpected opportunities that we must make the most of:cool:.

Perfect, FMR....... what do you reckon on the differences between the Bonnie and Speed Twin ?
I've had a 'Black' for a few years and enjoy it that much it's become the " everyday bike" , but may have the chance of a Speed Twin at a good price soon-ish ?
Old injuries in neck & shoulder have shown up lately with high winds ( and naughty speeds ! ) giving me hell, and thinking maybe the slightly more sporting position .. footrest's back a bit, etc, taking the blast off the chest and neck somewhat ... and I could also have pictures of the side by side parking, like yours, :D !!
Bumped into a bloke a couple of weeks back .. " Where's the Sporty Sport gone " ?
    " This is Triumph's Sporty Sport, mate " !!!!!!

Are the fork seals actually leaking from failure?
Look up fork seals cleaning tools for offroad bikes?
    Nothing special!
A piece of plastic, think credit card, cut with a hook shape on one corner.
Offer it up ..... inside the lip seal .... and hook around.
    Scrape out all the crud.

Many a time offroad bikes are parked up only to leak next time out.

Try it, what have you to lose?
It's been so successful so many times, if it doesn't work it hasn't cost you anything more ;)

As @chassis said, I rode it! :grinning: With my new job my mileage has been sorely down whether it's Speedy or my Harleys. But the weather right now is perfect and I'm on a bit of a break. So....I actually rode my Speed Triple two days in a row!:sun:

Saturday I did a solo ride up into an area called Saddlebrooke where I stopped for refreshment and made a call to a riding buddy who's even busier than me. Plus her bike is in the shop with a front brake problem. :(

    IMG_3422.jpeg

Saddlebrooke is a retirement area so there are probably as many folks driving golf carts as cars. :joy:

I rode Speedy again the next day (yesterday) on our Sunday morning ride. It was nice to do back-to-back rides on this bike since I didn't need to put the covers back on. I just left Speedy "naked" overnight. ;)

    Screenshot 2025-10-06 at 9.04.15 PM.png

We had six bikes out this morning. One Triumph, one BMW, one Suzuki, and three Harleys. We ate at a tried-and-true favorite, Oracle Patio Cafe. The temp was 55ºF at the start of the ride and low 70's on the way back home. The big news at breakfast is that our friends, Cassie and Chris, are going to be parents! That's them at the left of the photo. It came as a great but wonderful surprise to all of us. :)

Just as we were getting ready to leave, our buddy, Ek, drove up. Ek is a motorcyclist and rides with us fairly regularly. But he sustained a bad knee injury playing basketball and had knee surgery about two weeks before our friend, Russell, had his total knee replacement. The rest of us are hoping this knee stuff isn't contagious!

Thanks for the note- I currently have about 1700 miles on my T120 and I love it and will probably never have a reason to sell it. The upright and comfortable riding position is very nice. I bought the Triumph King/Queen seat and it is fantastic. Now - your question with the Speed Twin, it is a very different bike and more sport / performance oriented. I finally put it in "Sport" mode today and that thing is awesome. I am 65 years old and still enjoy riding a little aggresively on occasion. If I was to pick one the T120 would probably be more versitle and practicle. As you saw by my post I purchased an older 1st gen Speed Twin and have no regrets I love the looks much better. I put 100 miles on the Speed Twin today, came back and told the wife - I am never selling this thing! Enjoy, don't sell your T120 and pick up a used Speed Twin!

Nice to see you out @Sandi T. Those golf carts can be dangerous.....I might tell you my sorry tale one day :p.

Today I planned a route to call in at three places we'd never been to before to just have a change.

    Screenshot_20251010-185433~2.jpg
The first stop was The Old Prison at Northleach. It served very nice coffee and I had a lovely lunch of sourdough toast with avocado with seeds and poached eggs. Very tasty if you like that sort of thing!
    IMG-20251010-WA0004.jpg

Next up was a new placed called REVS Automobile on the Fosse Way. The coffee was lovely and it was a really friendly and welcoming place with lots of interesting things to look at. The food looked decent too. There was hard standing for bike parking, otherwise the car park was gravel; it was quite packed and I found it fine, but a lady dropped her bike on it :(.
    IMG-20251010-WA0009.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0003.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0007.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0005.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0006.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0002.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0001.jpg IMG-20251010-WA0010.jpg
Lastly, we went to the Twisted Spoon at Staplow, where Helmut had coffee and cake and I had a nice pot of mint tea.
