You might be right with green flag but I have all my vehicles listed with the RAC and they are all showing on my profile as covered and the firestorm is a 97 and the thunderbird is a 98 I don't know if it's because of the time I've been with them or the limited mileage I will do on these my car is a late 17 and the Mrs is a 14 and they are all listed it might be worth you looking into the RAC as I know green flag is more competitive but why if they are putting an age limit on it that is possibly why they are cheaper by putting an age limit on their policies they are edging their bets by not having to attend to so many call outs and so the policy costs stay in their pockets it's like the insurance companies putting in small print that gives them getting out of paying out or extortionate excesses

Greenflag moving from the named vehicle on the policy (why when it's personal cover? :eyes:) of a 72 plate to a 2005 plate meant the renewal went up £60 to about £180 if I recall correctly.
Considering this covers a few vehicles it didn't sound too bad, but after what you've just said @Mark TGR9 maybe the RAC is worth a look then on renewal.
    ;)

There you go penalties for insuring an older vehicle with them more chances that they may be called out so you pay more essentially for the same risk I don't know why they do this with bikes as the majority of bike owners treat their machines as if it is a child and wants for nothing plus there is far less depreciation on bikes than cars

Join the TOMCC for £20 and get 10% off all Triumph accessories and clothing, which means you'll probably get your membership fee back on your first purchase.
Sorry, a bit off topic there...now where were we? Ah yes, boats ;)

Maybe it was £30. Still worth it if you're thinking of buying stuff from Triumph.
I filled in a form at Youles shop in Manchester and didn't bother with the engine number bit.

I’m currently with the AA on a personal membership which covers all the bikes and the car but I have chopped and changed over the years between the AA and RAC depending on cost. I’ve found a new policy with either is very competitive, then it goes up a with a bang for the second year. As my SUV is almost 28yrs old I ALWAYS ask about vehicle age restrictions to avoid any nasty surprises at the side of the road, should it happen.
In 2013 the RAC brought me the 300m home from Dumbarton after getting a stone through the rad of my 1yr old ZZR.
My last recovery was from Lincoln on a Saturday evening 3 years ago after getting a rear flat on the Street Scrambler. I can’t honestly remember who I was with then but they sent a contractor with a flat back truck to get me home after a wait of around 50mins.
I had a rear flat on the FE one dark Saturday night a few years ago after a day’s laning and was told around a 3hr wait to get me the 15m or so home! In the end I got fed up waiting and road it home which completely destroyed the tube but I had a new one waiting in the garage anyway.
Some sort of recovery policy is as important as insurance IMO.

I treat my breakdown service the same as my insurance and sky TV at renewal I'll call them up and haggle I've had the same price for years now as I say I don't really want to pay any more than last year and most of the time they match the price the odd occasion I might even pay a few pennies more or sometimes it has been less I've dropped the homestart because of having multiple vehicles like the majority of us on here so its not as though I'm going to be desperate to get the particular vehicle going immediately if I have to be somewhere there is always an alternative and i can sort it out when I get home that saves a good chunk of change so maybe it might be worth a lot of people on here check into that ;)
