Hello Peeps and hello from the newbe , I have an America with around 26k miles on the clock and need to replace the front tyre due to baldness, similar to the person sat between the seat and computer screen, any who I digress. The current tyres on front and rear are Michelin Marathon 880s, with the front being a 110/90/18 M/C 61H. My question is this, what combinations of tyre can I fit or am I stuck with the Michelin...Must also add I'm not enjoying this tyre as the front end even before it was bald had a tendency to slide out on roundabouts.

Hi joe, they're not hard to come by anymore. It was difficult while they were moving factories out of the UK but now they are fully established you can pick them up no problem

Metzeler ME888 Marathon tires, in my opinion are the best! I have a 2010 America with going on 55K miles and I have got, almost 30K on the tires now. They still have tread, but figured I best replace them. they have taken me through heavy rain, wet roads etc. and grab the road great. that's my story and I am sticking to it! Wow 30k on a set of tyres, that has got to be a record. I have never managed more than 7 or 8k on any bike or on many different types/manufacturers tyres.
Wessa, I understand and totally agree but this is for real and I have seen others with the same results posted online.
Well good on you mate. My current bike (tiger 900 gt pro) is 12 months old and will need tyres by the time I get back from next trip to Scotland this weekend. I’m thinking about 7.5 to 8k maximum on this current pair.
Glad to hear the Metzeler 888 are good boots as getting one on the front of my America. Been riding a Sporty for a few weeks at 45mpg and my eldest son’s RE Scram 411 for a few more at around 80 to 90 mpg, all because of the arguments here in the UK with some local tyre fitters unwilling to fit tyres that might be incompatible with the Metzeler on the rear. All sorted now so cheers fellow bike-nuts the Triumph will be back on two wheels tomorrow…Yeeehar!!
