Featured Touring Off For A Ride, Back In A Bit....

The last few days shall we say, errm, have been enthusiastically ridden.
Spoke with the wife and she asked how it was going and was I enjoying myself?
Oh yes definitely I responded, but rather too truthfully said, I just hope my tyres last out

The rear was a bit of a judgement call and I'd predict it marginal on my return, so good to go, just. The front looked good, not now and guess who sold his spare new front to a mate two weeks ago?
I've always favoured right handers, and with a combination of the pink roads plus an extra 20kgs payload, the tread seems to have disappeared on the right hand side and the left side is only slightly better. The centre beats both on depth

Consequently I've agreed with her to knock the pace back a bit darling.

Happy wife, happy life and all that.

 

I got asked in one petrol station, what's all the blood on your helmet?

I had to think for a minute what he was on about.
Oh it's the same as on the front of my bike, suicidal flies exploding!

I, supposedly, checked someone couldn't zoom in to cheat so go on then, how did you know that and don't tell me it was a random guess?

 

No cigar @JackWS but not far off on width and profile.

Honestly it was Mahoosive and probably totally naff, but it certainly stood out.

 

Anyone know of this character they mention?

Ah, now you're in my country.
That there, is the view from the Struie Viewpoint, the 'Million Dollar View', looking along the Kyle of Sutherland towards a distant Ben More. From there, the Nortwest Highlands are your oyster.
I do a bit of aurora photography from there. Lairg is about 17 miles from there and you have to call in at The Pier restaurant, absolutely lovely.

Well worth a visit @Eldon they do a mean cheesecake, amongst other things.
And yes, I've had many a shot ruined at that viewpoint. 11 cars squeezed in it one night, every one of them with at least two phones lighting up my 10 second exposure...

Dingwall is only down the road to a Scotsman, people go further to the supermarket round here
