Morning all, first post! Don’t hate me but I recently won a very nice Triumph Cub Mountain 1967! I’ll get my coat! Can’t complain got it for free but it has a minor problem and I couldn’t get it started! Who laughed! I went away almost immediately and am still away so didn’t really look at it to be fair. Back tomorrow. Basically I suspect it hasn’t been used for sometime and the clutch needs looking at and/or adjusting? Basically the kick start is always locking up at the top of its movement and needs the clutch to break it free and I can’t get a full kick on it! Turns over fine with clutch pulled in. As said I only had a short time with it before I went away. So have basically done nothing to it! When I get home what should I look at? I’m a fairly competent mechanic but know my limitations! Be pleased to hear any and all suggestions! Funny enough this well known site does videos with their bikes! Funny enough they didn’t do one for this! David
Hi, Funny enough literally just home from Woodhall Spa. Bought a campervan the other week just trying it out. Need to get a trailer for the tow bar to take my bike (s) when I go away! Blumin’ LPG it’s fitted with isn’t winking, otherwise a good camper. Pleased! David.
@DODCUB Welcome to the family. Nice little bike and quite rare now. Do send us a picture by hitting the upload a file button bottom right corner. Probably you just need to get some clean fuel in it. Pour a cap of petrol down the plug hole. And check for spark at the plug. Your kick start someone has probably misaligned the ratchet and sprocket. Or you have a damaged tooth.
Thank you for that. I’ll Many thanks, all suggestions are good. Been away back home now I’ll look tomorrow! I’ll try and put a picture now! David.
@DODCUB Really nice bike mate. Someone has looked after it well. I know you can find them but hardly ever see one that looks so good and standard trim. Thanks for the pictures
No problem! It looks very good. These pictures were taken from the site. Looks better than it actually turned out to be although as I say it is in very good condition! David.
