Got another question. My 900 Scrambler rear brake. Checked tonight. Every thing is free and movement as usual good pads. But the disc looks like it is overheating has all the burn look around the disc center and outer edge. Is it a warped disc. I did look at it and spin the rear wheel and it looks quite true Alought to the naked eye it might be hard to see. Any thoughts.
Hi Joe unless you are very heavy on the rear brake it's unlikely to be a warped disc also especially if you ride on the 60/40 or even 70/30 so if you have checked wheel alignment opposed to watching if the disc is true it's a strange one front being more common for warping as I'm sure you're aware sintered pads can generate a bit more heat but you would have to be riding the pedal??
@Mark TGR9 You know i have had this on my mind all night. And you have to be right i must be riding the year brake pedal only explanation and riding is not braking. Going for a ride today to see if i am the culprit. Thanks for the good suggestion
@Mark TGR9 Yes i think you had a good point there. Rode eighty odd miles and it seems fine. Found my food was just touching the pedal so repositioned it. Would like to adjust the brake lever but don't think they are adjustable.
Joe I think most levers are adjustable or rider customizeable if that's such a word it might not be as obvious as the older splined levers but there is possibly another system used to adjust that is more robust than the splines
