    Cleaning it:(! So on Monday evening I joined my bishop and 20 or so others of mixed riding experience for the next leg of "beating the bounds" of the Diocese. I'll leave you to Google what "Beating the bounds is".

    Anyway that ride reminded me of a couple of things; don't trust weather apps and forecasts, and there's no such thing as bad weather just the wrong choice of gear.

    Glorious sunshine setting off from Northwich area to Grappenhall to join the ride which would leave there head West towards the outskirts of Manchester then South ish, clipping Alderley Edge, Macclesfield, through Lower Withington, past Jodrell Bank and ending at Holmes Chapel. I was one of the ride Marshals again.

    The bad unpredictable weather was supposed to be heading North and East, so I was in my Mesh jacket (without the windproof liner) T-shirt and Jeans (it was hot and sunny) and laced short boots. But despite having lived near the Pennines for the last 20 or so years, I didn't allow for how the weather can hang up on the hills.

    From the outskirts of Manchester the weather began to change from warm and occasional drops of water to "send for Noah!" at Alderley Edge and remained torrential all the way to Lower Withington where it eased and finally stopped when 22 wet riders rode into the car park at Holmes Chapel.

    I was soaked and cold from the neck down (feeling the water leaching through the jeans on your thighs and then running along the underside of your legs in the breeze is most unpleasant:cold_sweat:). Fortunately Fish and chips had been organised and they warmed me up (the chippy in Holmes Chapel is excellent:yum), ready for a gentle run back home (speed limited by the wind chill effect of being completely soaked).

    No photos because who wants to see 20 soggy bikers, I couldn't be bothered to get the phone out (it was in the one water resistant pocket in my jacket) and who wants to look at photos of me jet washing my bike. Anyway its all clean now:).

    Enjoy the ride (I'll be able to laugh about this by the weekend):cool:.

    Its probably evaporating, since I only get out once a month, either that or short journeys. I can't imagine riding any slower ,,,,,

    The UK gallon must be larger than the US gallon. Typically 45MPG on my 900 Tiger GT PRO.

    But, what did I do today? Ride, baby ride !

    This was yesterday...

    The wife being a twitcher we went on a wild goose chase, well actually a White Tailed Eagle.
    We knew the approximate location of sightings and so set off into the North York Moors.
    A quick tea stop at Hutton-le-hole then onto the Cycle Hub for some chocolate fudge cake.

    Nice looking food here.

    Found the right spot, people stood outside their cars with binoculars is a bit of a giveaway, and one chap had seen it that morning, but it wasn't to be about for us.

    130 mile round trip and ideal weather for a Sunday ride around.

    Today I rode about 40 miles to meet a friend in Kidderminster who has just started her biking journey, there are some nice roads from Hereford over that way so it was very enjoyable :). We met up and then went just 3 miles together for a very nice coffee and a chat and 3 miles back again and then I came home the long way round via Shobdon for a total ride of 123 miles. Now I have to go to work for the night :(.

    All this test riding, then flying around on the 765 meant I haven't eaten all day :eek:

    Stamford bridge for FnC ;)
    Agh they don't open for another hour:rolleyes:

    Ok Quiche and doughnuts from Co-Op it is then, especially as they've just reduced x4 with jam in to £0.51 :yum

    Just changed out the modern clutch and brake levers that were on my T100R for the correct items. Much more in keeping with the period (and a bit more chrome doesn't hurt either :cool:). Probably replace the grips next, with the originals that came with the bike (I'll suffer the extra vibes!)

    Well "looking" you know!!! :imp:

    I find "brainwashing by Youtube" a useful tactic!
    Eventually she gets that fed up of, her words, "watching all this 5hite, just bloody buy one if that's what you want and put the cooking program back on!"

    :joy::joy:

    A proper win-win, she gets telly control and I get a new bike :blush:

    Aren't these doughnuts sweet..... a bit like married life :joy:

    I had a business day in the city of Salzburg. Therefore I "beamed" me with my Rocket starting at 0530 there. After finishing my appointments I rode back home and arrived after in sum 684 kilometres at 1900 hours there. The complete day was dry! The first in the last two weeks and also the last in the upcoming days.:rolleyes: This summer is extremely wet in Austria. :(

    @Mrs Visor:
    After this disgusting weekend it will get better.;)
    Next week we will be able to take our bikes every day for our office rides without any "washing phases" on the streets. :)
    I did 4.000 kilometres with the new tyres up to now. They perform really great!

    Maybe you should invest in a life jacket for the rain storms to be safe? :p.

    Yesterday, Helmut and I went out with two friends on a half day Magical Mystery Tour run by me. I lead the way on my Street Triple, followed by Helmut on his Tuono and our friends on their ZX6R and ZX10R. I ride with very few other people as I like to just relax and enjoy and not think about how others are riding around me, however the folk on the Kawasakis own a local riding school and in fact I was their first Mod 2 pass once they started working for themselves :).

    We had a great day out, even if I pretty much took us green laning for a mile or two after a small geographic embarrassment o_O. Someone did take a photo and a video of us all, however I have failed to secure either :(.
