Interesting all this change brake fluid intervals nowadays as like yourself, in years gone by, we just didn't.

A friend once shared the story that he once came back from France in his car. It had developed a brake fault so he bled it up with water and it got him home just fine :joy:

If this was the 1960's you could of sworn you had broken down as with nothing around in all directions it could be mistaken you have just abandoned the bike :)

No not abandoned, although did see a nice 1960s Triumph going the other way.
    Here's another view.

Synchronize in abergele the old completely bikes woods they are good there's only three of them at the moment that's why for now they don't open weekends but like I mentioned before they have all the Triumph equipment so they are able to plug in and do full diagnostic on the bike so I got a Triumph print out of all functions working as should be I think that they might have some Ducati equipment left behind as well but they seem fair and probably cheaper than Bill Smith's used Triumph parts and oil as specified by manufacturer

Just dropped the Nightstorm off at SWB Racing in Ebbw Vale to replace the rear shocks and put emulators in the front ones. Will Burchell is a road racer and really knows his stuff when it comes to suspension set up, highly recommended if you are looking to transform your ride with just a few turns of a screw

Despite the thunderstorms all day forecast for today it was glorious when I got up at 6. After breakfast and watching the MotoGP sprint recording I went through the should I shouldn’t I debate with myself. Finally I decided I’d take the Tiger out (I’d done the same yesterday and not got wet) for a few hours and ended up in Southport. It started to rain as I was about 2 miles away but nothing major. Only a couple of bikes at the pier as you can see when I parked up.
    upload_2025-7-20_17-30-52.jpeg

Had a coffee and toasted tea cake under cover at the cafe whilst it stopped and dried up. It was still warm and with the breeze it was fit to carry on after I’d finished my refreshments and had a chat with a few people. Got home for about 3 having ridden through a very brief shower. Cleaned the bike and all put away before the weather has just finally broke and its tipping down.

Today I fitted a SmartMoto AIS removal kit, hopefully that goes some way to cure the excessive popping on closed throttle.
Gave it a few revs and had no pops, will give it proper test ride in the morning
Depending on how it is then I may have to look at getting a tune or powercommander on it

My Triumph insisted on being taken out for a 120 miles jaunt.

Helmut and I have just returned from three days away; we had our second track based training day with Rapid Training yesterday, so travelled up on Monday and back today. We decided to avoid motorways the same as last time and spend a day getting there via the Staffordshire moorlands and Peak District.

Monday started warm and dry, we planned a stop at The Old Smithy in Monyash as I have seen it on lots of peoples’ posts. It was great there, very friendly and the food was good - I had an oatcake with beans and cheese.

About a minute after leaving The Old Smithy we encountered absolutely biblical instant - flooding rain, so on went the waterproof jackets and we carried on, a little less spiritedly than before…by Bakewell it wasn’t too bad again and then about 25 miles from Scotter, where we were staying, it absolutely hammered it down. All part of the adventure. We had a lovely bar meal and some beers and an early night ready for our track day.

The track training was once again, superb, the coach was great and we both saw some big improvements in our riding, the track photographer was there, so I will bore you all with some photos when we have them! On the second session, a gentleman on a Triumph 400 had a nasty accident in front of me unfortunately and the session was red flagged for him to be attended to. He is injured and bike looks a mess, but thank goodness it was not thought to be horribly serious as he did fly very high indeed . I hope he makes a speedy recovery, that’s for sure. There were a few more people staying in the hotel that we were and we had a meal and a few more beers with one of them afterwards (he had impeccable taste, owning a 2025 Striple).

Today, we set off home at about 0900hrs after breakfast. We went via Bill Lomas Motorycles which was fantastic!! Very friendly, great coffee and some absolutely amazing bikes in incredible condition. I would have owned most of them in a heartbeat, but the NSR stole my heart!!

We also popped into Matlock Bath for an ice cream and then had a thankfully still dry ride home.

Its probably evaporating, since I only get out once a month, either that or short journeys. I can't imagine riding any slower ,,,,,

The UK gallon must be larger than the US gallon. Typically 45MPG on my 900 Tiger GT PRO.

But, what did I do today? Ride, baby ride !

    This was yesterday...

The wife being a twitcher we went on a wild goose chase, well actually a White Tailed Eagle.
We knew the approximate location of sightings and so set off into the North York Moors.
A quick tea stop at Hutton-le-hole then onto the Cycle Hub for some chocolate fudge cake.

    Nice looking food here.

Found the right spot, people stood outside their cars with binoculars is a bit of a giveaway, and one chap had seen it that morning, but it wasn't to be about for us.

130 mile round trip and ideal weather for a Sunday ride around.

Today I rode about 40 miles to meet a friend in Kidderminster who has just started her biking journey, there are some nice roads from Hereford over that way so it was very enjoyable :). We met up and then went just 3 miles together for a very nice coffee and a chat and 3 miles back again and then I came home the long way round via Shobdon for a total ride of 123 miles. Now I have to go to work for the night :(.
