Hello the witty and wise, any one have a definitive code reading for 0053 on a Thruxton rs ? Just about to go on a road trip with me Bro and the engine light is on, would like to get it sorted asap many thanks
Hey mate, 0053 is usually the O2 sensor (bank 1, sensor 1). Could be a dodgy connection or the sensor itself. Check the wiring first if it looks fine, might need a new sensor. Quick fix if you’ve got a spare, otherwise might be a dealer job.
Thanks Robbi, any indication which sensor (left or right if your sat on the bike) Off to the isle of Man next week and really struggling to find one to fit before we go
The traction control warning likely comes from the front wheel speed sensor (right side when sitting on the bike). It compares front/rear wheel speeds, and the sprocket change throws it off. If you're in a pinch, try disconnecting/reconnecting the sensor to reset it sometimes that helps temporarily. Safe travels to the Isle of Man.
Think you might have your wires crossed there which could be the answer The lambda sensor is more often in the exhaust
