I've talked about my daughter LauraLea and her band of talented musicians, "Tripp Fabulous," here before. This is not a garage band. It's their living. They play all the "A" venues. They travel from Vermont to the FL Keys and range as far west as Ohio. She's been doing it for almost thirty years, and they are still rocking. Although she has some amazing original music, which she does at her solo gigs, they are a cover band but are always in demand. This past week they were scheduled to play in Ohio at Put-In-Bay, a resort island on Lake Erie. They were booked for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. After driving ten hours and taking the ferry to the island, they were loading their equipment into the club when the manager approached and asked, "What are you doing here?" Joke, right? NO! The band's management company never confirmed the booking!
WHAT?! YOU HAD ONE JOB! Laura contacted them immediately and they fessed up. They dropped the ball. Well, what are you going to do about this major SNAFU? Fortunately, her management company stepped up. They put the whole band and the sound guy/roadie up at the resort's hotel for all three nights, bought their meals, paid them in full for two missed shows and got them a gig at another club on the island for Saturday night. So, the band got a two-day paid respite and got to perform last night. Band life, sheesh!

    Check them out.

@Fork Lock Obviously she can't sing as good as me. But pretty terrific and much better looking. No that's real good and she deserves her stardom. Will search later for more titles she has.

Nice, and they could do worse than covering the Cranberries ... Love that band, or used to :(. Like many folks I always had ambition to, at least, be accomplished enough to enjoy playing at home classic rock tunes from my youth. So far it has not happened, my fingers are too thick and short to play a full sized bass at all and the guitar is a real stretch for me. That hasn't stopped me from loading up my den with lots of nice equipment which I dust occasionally. heh : unamused:

A crackin' song and they do it justice. Written in the early 90's but still appropriate to much of what's going on in the world now. I hope the US audience get the point and take note.

Might have been written in the early nineties but i was in Aldi in Trowbridge last week and wandering around the store was a 5 or 6 year old girl giving it the full on "Zombie, zombie, zombie........" as loud as she could. Made me smile anyway.

One of my fave songs, always liked the Cranberries and I think they do a good job on it. More, more, more...

Yeah, Dolores O'Riordan. Lost her too young. Song about "The Troubles." Iconic now. Kids today have no idea what it's about.

Sadly the same could be said of many Americans at the time who funded the IRA in particular.....

Despite the song being written and released in condemnation of the IRA Warrington bombing specifically (and violence in general), it was adopted and used by groups wanting to further the aims of those responsible.
