G’day all, thanks for allowing me to join this forum. I have a 2010 triumph America Bonneville. VIN SMTTJ9118R8350770 The bike was left to me in a will and was a project when I picked it up. It has no spark so I took it to an auto electrician who had it for six months then rang me and said he has tried everything and still can’t find the problem. He said maybe the ecu White that in mind, the ecu in the bike has a different VIN printed on it. Do they have to match the bike?
@Bronte Lockwood If you had it to an auto electrician who can't fix it and took six months to tell you that. Well. Take it to a Triumph dealer get it tested properly.
@Bronte Lockwood Try and get the tune ecu kit it should tell you the faults. Not sure if i got the right piece of equipment you require and hope someone gets you on the right track.
Can anyone at least tell me if the ecu is even the right one for the bike. Or if the vin is a America bonneville
@Bronte Lockwood Oh it is pretty hard to do that. We don't have any part numbers. And really the vin you should be mailing your dealer or Triumph direct for that info. As for the ECU They could throw some light on compatibility. But any change the bike really needs setting to accept the bits. Sorry but you really need to put some effort into the project. And any thing can be sorted.
