Anyone who lives in Staffordshire around Lichfield be aware...

Approx 5pm on the 10th, my mate went to a secure apartment block with coded gates to see his Mrs on his BMW R Ninety scrambler which has loads of mods. The apartments are in the town centre so luckily CCTV was present.

He's secured his bike and gone inside and later found his bikes gone.

Police have trawled some CCTV and identified the offenders arriving minutes behind my mate on a white Ducati. They managed to break the steering lock and start it under 2 minutes before riding off together out of the compound.

Keep an eye out when riding and just keep an eye who is riding close to you etc.

I've attached a couple of pics of my mates bike but it's potentially stripped and gone by now.

I feel for your mate. I was there 3 years ago with a stolen Street Scrambler.
Did he use any extra security or just rely on the steering lock which are feckin' useless?
I'm surprised they managed to start it without the key though.

I had a disc lock and a lock & chain in a bag on my luggage rack but I didn"t use them as I knew I would be away from the bike for 10 mins at most. Now I ALWAYS use them and secure the bike to something solid.

Apologies for the delayed reply, I wanted to ask my mate about security.
Joe, fully agree, I hope karma catches up with them at some point.

Pegscraper, only factory security, steering lock basically as he thought it was safe in a security gated compound so just the factory steering lock. agree tho they got it running and gone very quickly. defo taking a disc lock out with me from now on

@Baskey13 No matter it was not theirs. And i am not one who wishes harm to any one. But i would be so happy if these Scumbags lost some limbs.

Sorry to hear of this, sadly there's no deterrent for anything in this country anymore.
