Tiger 1050 Sport Won't Start

    Hi all. I recently ran out of fuel, bike was running fine. I refilled the tank, bike started normally as usual, rode 50 yards and spluttered to a stop. Just wouldn't start. Recovered back to my workshop, recharged battery, still wouldn't start. Figured it has to be a fuel issue. Stripped pump and strainer was clogged solid. Replaced strainer with new one, cleaned and tested pump, all seemed good. All back together, still won't start. Tried it with a squirt ether in air box, fired straight up and ran fine on the ether, then stalled so it's definitely a fuel issue. Figured the injectors got clogged so replaced them with low mileage used items, still won't start, not so much as a cough. What am I missing?? I'm guessing the injectors aren't firing, this would suggest electrical fault or ECU fault but how could a fuel issue turn into an electrical issue?
    I've tried all the usual non start culprits...side stand switch, clutch switch, run switch etc. Everything I disconnected is reconnected as it should be. The only thing I have done differently is fit an inline cartridge fuel filter between pump and fuel rail.

    Is fuel getting through the new filter? As in could it be blocked by residual sludge that has now worked its way from the tank or is there just an issue with it

    It might be worth checking the fuel pressure?

    Yea, I ran a good couple of liters through the pump and filter before I re-connected to the fuel rail. I had wondered if it might be airlocked, but as there is no means to bleed it I`ve got to assume this isn`t an issue.

    Checked at over 65psi which is within spec.

    I had another look at this today, checked and double checked and eveything is as it should be.
    I spent hours trawling through Triumph non starting issue threads and found one that says if the fuel gauge shows empty and doesn`t see any fuel in the tank it sends a signal to the ECU not to start to prevent the pump running dry and overheating. Well, my gauge is reading completely empty although the tank is full, the miles to empty range figure is blank but the low fuel light is functioning correctly ( I watched it go out as I filled the tank). I tested the sender at 9 ohms full and 24 ohms empty, which is correct but I only measured 4.9 volts at the sender plug. I don`t have a figure for this so don`t know whether it`s correct.

    My thoughts now, are that the ECU has disabled the injectors: so I`m going to borrow a mates OBD hookup and Triumph ECU tune software and see if it shows any fault codes and If there is a reset function.

    Any other tips or suggestions would be greatly welcomed. I`m loathed to take it to a dealer.

    Give me carbs and a magneto over this crap any day.

    @Wolfram101@ Have you tried pouring a cap full of petrol down each plug hole.

    I had a 2007 Tiger 1050 and once ran out of fuel but had no further issues when I filled up. The fuel gauge does not register until after you have ridden the bike a short distance.
