Your $5000 according the currency converters is 8,739 lev Bulgarian and for that amount there is no listing that would not be in the budget the most expensive listing that I have found is for a 2008 Sprint ST 1050 with 56,377km on the clock for 6,464 lev and a 2011 ST 1050 with 47,689km for 6,900 lev but my budget realistically has a ceiling of 4,500 lev the 1997 Trophy 900 with 39,000km that has come in from Switzerland is listed at 2,500 lev ($1430) there are registration fees to pay the 2001 Sprint ST 955i with 54,000km that is local is 3,899 lev ($2,230) there is also a 2004 Sprint mileage not mentioned at a dealers for 3,636 ($2,080) that's about 3 hours drive to where they are.

So I would suggest that prices here are less than in the US though mileages seem to be higher in comparision my 2002 Ducati Monster 620ie Dark only had 7,677 miles on it and I paid 2,200 lev ($1258) for it it now has 10,450 miles on it and it's a US model I hope to get 3,500-4,000 lev ($2000-2288) for it when it sells.

Ok an update I managed to look at that 2001 Sprint ST 955i that was fairly local it's a lue one with full touring set, both side cases and top box plus a tank bag the cases have their soft bags/cases inside and it has the normal grab rail should one desire to remove the top box rack . It started just fine and made no odd sounds that I could detect it also has some sort of race adjustable rear suspension thingy fitted to the right hand side???

However I was rather dissapointed with it's presentation his listing says "New import from Switzerland.
Completely original appearance, no repainted details. Excellent technical and visual condition. Adjustable suspension! Almost new discs! New battery, good tires, three suitcases and bags. 4 keys
    Duty and VAT paid.
Sold with invoice, no additional notary fees"

But there are scratched on the tank, screen and a crack at teh front of the front mudguard the tyres are dated 2012 andd 2014 they may have good tread but frankly they need replacing andd that's not cheap at 600-800 lev for a set ..................... yes I checked those are for Pirelli, Continental and Bridgestone. Due to it not being registered there was no chance of a test ride but I did get to sit on it and wold need to ride it before being able to tell if I would need to get risers or not. Then he explained that it had been here in Blgaria since last September and I was the first person to show any interest in it !!!!!!!!!!!! and then he said there were taxes and duty to pay which is not waht his advert says so on top of his price thee would be another possibly 2000 lev for tyres and taxes!!! Not a good sales pitch they did not even clean the bike he says he preferes to show it as it is but I get the feeling it's to say a bit of money and time needing no effort to ignore it. Not a favourable impression to make.

There is a proper dealership about 3 hours south of use that looks to havve both a Blue 955 Sprint and a Green 900 Trophy or sale m thinking of contacting them and see if it's possible to go down and iew them both and hopefully get a test ride to compare them.

The option of looking at the other dealership sounds wise. The Swiss import seems like a lot of hazards waiting to show themselves! It seems that patience will be important for you to get the bike that you want.

PS. I purchased my bikes years ago (2018 and 2023, respectively). I hope, for my sake, that it explains the price differences! :)

Ok 3rddattempt at a reply

I am going to look at a 1997 Trophy 900 tomorrow (Wednesday) it's about 1 1/2 hrs drive this is the one that I phoned abot but the seller speaks no English and I speak very little Bulgarian so we couldd not communicate but then at 21:43 Sunday evening got a phone call and it was from the seller of the 1997 Trophy 900 with 39,000 km on the clock it too is a Swiss import and it's only 1 1/2hrs drive away. As mentioned he does not speak English and my Bulgarian is abysmal but he had a friend with him that speaks fairly good English so the rusult is that I am going to look at it Wednesday morning at 11:30 and another bit of good news is that I managed to get my Nikon Coolpix cameras battery to charge up and maybe will be able to take some pjots that I can get onto the laptop from where I can post them unlike with the darned new Motorola camera that refuses to connect to the laptop and while it takes photos they are not much use if I cannot move them from the phone :confounded: .

Thought I would update this thread even though it's mentioned elsewhere on the forums well the 1997 Trophy 900 is in my mind at least better than that 2001 Sprint 955i I looked at. It was well presented being clean and I did not notice any noticable scratches. It started easily the seller said it would benefit from a service and oil change and I said it needed new tyres as front showed cracks in tread and rear has a 2004 date code.

After some discussion through a friend who speaks Bulgarian a deal was agreed so it's being serviced an a pair of new tyres fitted and once it's ready they will bring it over on a trailer then to KAT for registration. Front tyre was delivered Thursday awiating rear trye ot be delivered.
