As some of you might know I was going to do this last year, but a white van man threw a spanner in the works.

The Tiger is all prepared and loaded up, and this afternoon I will travel to the ferry, which will take me to Hull.

From there I will make my way to the Cairnryan-Larne ferry, which will get me to the Emerald Isle.

Good luck on your trip - I want to do the Wild Atlantic Way (the southern part at least up to Galway) at some point, but unlike when I did the NC500 alone, I’d prefer to have a wingman.

That’s a major challenge when you have no friends :joy:, well none I can persuade to accompany me at least.

I'll have no less than two wingmen in Ireland - I'll be met by @andyc1 and Dougie in Larne. On the way over from Hull I'll be in the company of @Wessa , @Dawsy and - wait for it - Dilli! :grinning:

    Day two

Got off the ferry, and Steve was waiting just outside. We set off towards Yorkshire, battling heavy traffic. It was still pretty nippy too, at this stage.

The further West we got the weather improved, and around 11.30 we arrived at our rendez vous cafe where @Dawsy[IMG] joined us

The route was continued through The Lakes, with Kirkstone pass being the highlight.

The route then continued to Gretna Green, where we arrived at 16.00 and were greeted by Dilli.

    day 3

Having had my breakfast I set off early to make sure I’d catch my ferry. Got on the A75 towards Stranraer, horribly busy and slow. @Dave49[IMG] recommended an alternative, so after 30 odd miles I got off the A75, and onto the A712. Lovely.

After some 40 miles I had to get back onto the A75 again, but now it wasn’t bad at all - little traffic and nice roads and views. Got to the ferry in time, and was first on, first off.

In Larne I was met by Dougie. Having caught up we set off towards (eventually) Letterkenny.

A stop at The Dark Hedges (I’m a GOT fan), and on we went.

The only boring bit was getting past Londonderry really. Other than that a great ride.

Bikes parked up, time for a beer and some grub…

    day 4

Left Letterkenny, both got fuel and on the road again, heading for Sligo. Not a bad start:

Blue sky's in Ireland, that's something you don't see too often.
    Glad it's all going well.:):)

I did the WAW from Cork to Galway last year, it was fantastic. This year doing the second half but top down, so Giants Causeway down to Galway. Galway is fantastic, so wanted to finish on a high, before the journey to the ferry and home.
If you haven't been to Ireland, go amazing scenery, great roads and lovely people.
