Not sure we're even allowed to celebrate it any more, it gets short shrift in the media generally, unlike all of our neighbours' days...anyway, given that this is also Shakespeare's birthday, 'cry God for Harry, England and Saint George!"
Yes, don't shout it out too loud, might upset someone. Anyway politics aside the knitters have done a grand job Happy St Georges Day indeed
Yes, Happy St George’s Day from a proud (and more than comfortable being politically incorrect - or as I see it, normal) Englishman
There'll always be an England and England shall be free If England means as much to you as England means to me. Happy St George's Day to all and please excuse the Elizabeth reference, just love the words.
Officially not till Monday 28th as you can't celebrate a saints day the week before or after Easter according to the church so I will be raising a drink today and on Monday (any excuse really).
I'm glad that there are a few of us patriotic Englishmen left, this thread is the only reference that I have seen today about St. George's day. Happy St. George's day to one and all!!!
We have a large car, van and bike parade in Birmingham (Solihull actually) every year. This year it ran on Sunday 20th April from Notcutts in Shirley, down through the main shopping area, then u turn at a roundabout and back past Notcutts and into Henley in Arden. There were loads of bikes and scooters, all sizes and age groups, decked out with England flags, amazing sight. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BHm8C4ay7/ This was posted on Facebook.
