    Thanks for your comment
Here is another image with more detail of the sierra, this is in the state of Oaxaca Mexico
The road from the coast up the sierra is perhaps one of the best roads I have ever riden, stunning views and it climbs up to 2500 meters above sea level, temperatures vary from 30+°C to 10°C and fog.
I only had my mobile so image quality is meh ...

Wow! Truly lovely. What are the roads like for traffic? Light?

Traffic while up in the sierra is very light, only local vans instead of buses as the road is way to narrow for big trucks, barely any cars, some small motorcycles

The route from Huatulco to Oaxaca took about 5 hrs, 3 hrs of constant turns in 2nd gear, maybe 3th on the short straights

Pavement is 90% ok, but there are some very rough patches and speed bumps on the edges of small towns keeps you on edge all the time.

This week the weather forecast announced sunny weather and increasing temperatures. BUT: At my today's start at 0515 it had -5 degrees celsius.:cold_sweat: Therefore I used my BMW for my 60 km office ride. I arrived at -2. In the afternoon it will be much warmer ;)
I love my heating grips and my heating jacket.:D

20250318_153036.jpg Spent the afternoon getting the acf50 cleaned off the 400four, wee shakedown run ,it's eye opening when you try come to a stop with 48year old brakes after getting used to brembo stylema

@Pedro1340 That is a fine example of a classic bike, proper mudguards, and a main stand.
Enjoy your shakedown run whenever it is.

Took the Tuono Factory for its MOT, the guy came out of the workshop to ask if I knew I had no back brake action at all…doh!, never use it because it’s never there o_O
He said I know it’s an Aprilia but it should show some brake pressure  a quick brake bleed and it showed enough to pass, you’ve got to love Italian design :p

The sun is coming out in Devon, took the Bullet for a run this morning, I cleaned off all the winter ACF50, gave it a check over and had a nice run, the new single seat is perfect, but the new Hitchcock mirrors didn't work very well so I have refitted the originals, I plan to buy some smart black Hitchcock touring mirrors when I have saved up my pocket money.
Nice to be back on the road.

I know it very well @Pegscraper , nice place to be. I'm originally from just down the hill at Eyam. Parents still live there so when back visiting I often set out over Sir William Hill when I'm going fell running

Are you in the TRF @Pegscraper and going off the green map for your routes, or just what you know?

I live in Sheffield but used to work in the Hope Valley area in the 1980's. I remember working in Eyam Hall one time and some of the walls were over 4ft thick. I was told it was the "new" hall, built after the plague, the old one being further up the road towards Foolow?

I was in the South Yorkshire branch of the TRF around 10 years ago but not since. The nearest branch now is Nottingham. I know most of the legal tracks around the area and several that used to be open but got closed by the NERC act. It's not all bad news though. I did the short unclassified route we always new as the Excelsior Track yesterday, not done it for a couple of years and it's now been upgraded to a BOAT and is a nice challenge after heavy rain.:)
Sir William hill is little more than a gravel track but there are more interesting ones close by towards The Barrel Inn and from Hucklow heading towards Pindale. A nice one called The Nook joins Hawkhill road in Eyam to Highcliffe but it was closed recently due to washout damage from bad weather.
Some of my favourites are Houndkirk Road, Sir William hill, Bretton Lane, Water Lane Eyam, School Lane Hucklow, Abney Moor, Pindale, Dirtlow Rake, Snake Hill road to Moscar cross (Moscar Cross currently closed until May) plus some others I haven't done for a while.
The are, or used to be many more heading towards Buxton but some are now restricted.

I'll check some of those out as not done 2 wheel greenlaning in the peaks as we used to always go to the dales or NYM.
    Where is the excelsior track?

Those tracks look ideal for the Kove.

The Excelsior runs between Main Road Grindleford and New Road Eyam. SK23805 76391. It's only around 150-200yds long, uphill, narrow and boulder strewn in places. Turn left at the top and another track runs down into Stoney Middleton and from there on into Eyam although not done them for a while. The tarmac New Road to Eyam is now permanently closed to traffic due to a major landslip.

I am on rest days from work at present; I took the beautiful Blade out for about 140 miles around Wales. The sun was slow to come out today, but once it did it was glorious.

I did my best to brighten up the Baffle Haus parking area..... PXL_20250324_103303743.jpg

Well I finally taxed the bike and went for a wander. Didn't stop anywhere, but am planning on another trip to either Barton Marina or a new one to us, Fradley Junction later on this week.
