Ah you would need deep pockets for a genuine original Slater Brothers Laverda Jota here in the UK.

Sounds like you've had quite the Monday rollercoaster Red and Italian, huh? I’m guessing it’s a Ducati or maybe a Ferrari-branded bike? Can’t wait to see what it is when you post those pics! Congrats on the new ride

    This is easy.
The only ducati worth buying (ahem o_O) : the MH 900e Evoluzione.
With the dry clutch. Sounds a bit like the early 90's triples.

Very nice. Whilst the photo shows rear view mirrors I thought they had a rear facing camera with a small screen on the top yoke/dash.

I would really like a "disagree" and "funny" button. I'll use the disagree for now...

Clearly you are not a designer sir. ;)
The bike was the Terreblache hommage to Mike Hailwoods 1978 racer.
It looks a bit front-heavy on the photograph (and in that case: really contemporary), but in real life it really is a gorgeous bike.

Not sure if any of the MHE's get much mileage though.

No, I'm not a designer but I know what I like. A friend of mine had an original MHR some years ago but I can't recall it looking much like this one. He sold it to fund a house move which he bitterly regretted shortly after.
The best looking bike I've ever owned was a Ducati 1198SP, followed closely by an '04 R1. I fell out with the Ducati quickly and sold out.after 3 months. Fabulous looks but not so satisfying to live with and ride.

So @Markus and @03_triple thought it funny?

    https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/2002-ducati-mh900e-with-1-miles/

They built 2,000, half in 2000 and the rest in 2001. The first 1,000 sold out in 31 minutes.

A couple of interesting features did not make the jump from concept to production, including exhaust-integrated rear turn signals and a rearview camera/display.

So the old memory is still working ok.

As the OP, I don't really mind the discussions going up this avenue. Its quite an interesting concept, but I can tell you a MH rep is not what I've bought. My red Italian should be on the premises within a week or so.

OK, without further ado, its reveal time! Firstly thanks to Helmut and Mrs V for not letting the cat out of the bag. Here she is:

I'm not sure if it comes out on the photo, but its a Final Edition version, I believe one of 981 Ducati made. For some reason they made them in both Bi posto and Mono posto. Why on earth you might wish to ride pillion on one is beyond me? but this one as you can see is a Biposto. One of 60 imported to the UK, with slightly fewer Monoposto models coming here, 57 I believe.

The 1198SP I bought in 2011 was one of 1254 produced and only 64 registered in the UK. It was the end of line model before the Panigale came out and I was told some SP's were bought and never registered but just squirrelled away as "investments". Didn't stop me selling it after living with it for 3 months. Not up to SOTA Jap stuff IMO but each to his own of course.

Very nice indeed - you’ll be getting miles of smiles out of that. However, can’t agree about a pillion enjoying it. My pillion loves going out on my fireblade and it must be one of the most contortionist bias seating positions going. Mind you, she used to be very much in to gymnastics and is still very bendy :joy::joy:

Thanks, I've just taken the pillion pegs off. I don't have a significant other half any more and my girlfriend has her own Ducati, so I've no need for them, even if someone was daft enough to want to go on the back. The Eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed its migrated into the house, but I do plan to ride it once the weather warms up and the roads are dry.
