I finally took the Bonnie out for a ride around the Yorkshire Dales. Grey skies, windy and 2°C, but I had a great time! Made all the better by a cooked farmhouse breakfast (shout out to Toft Gate Barn).
I was also out today but after a hearty Sunday lunch. Showing 4 deg C but thanks to the latest additions of heated grips and hand guards I can now give two warm fingers to cold weather.
Well done guys, and I'm still psyching myself up for the first ride on this year. Maybe get to Sammy Millers museum on Thursday for the regular meet.
breakfast looks good dont know about the greenery tho that looks a good ride out from our neck of the woods Teesside down to osmotherley , masham then on for breakfast sounds perfect cheers feller another destination added to the book
I went out last Thursday after also fitting heated grips and hand guards to my 900 Scrambler, big improvement. Lovely sun , just kept going with out really thinking the later it got in the afternoon with the sun starting to drop down a bit it started to get colder and colder. At least I got home in the light but with very cold toes. We need heated footrests.
The mudguard extender is from Pyramid plastics but they don't list one for the 900. I had a genuine Triumph extender on my Street Scrambler but I don't think they make it anymore. You could try one for a Street Twin which won't be a million miles out. The first Street Scramblers actually had the front mudguard from the Street Twin and you could see it didn't quite follow the profile of the larger front wheel, no idea if the newer, renamed "900 Scrambler" has the same guard. This was the extender fitted to my 2019 model, which I extended further with a diy extender extender, in reality just a bit of sheet plastic. It's beyond me why manufacturers fit such pathetic, "mudguards" on machines, especially classics where full, proper guards fit the look.
Perfect weather yesterday in Middle Tennessee in the US. About 70 degrees F with a strong wind from the South. Got the Speed Twin out for about an hour... Big Fun!
